There are an insane amount of pets within Roblox Grow A Garden, and they’re forever adding new eggs, or new shops, like the Blood Moon Shop, where you can get your hands on even more super rare, adorable pets.
When trying to decide if I should keep a pet, or sell it, I try and find out everything I need to know, so I don’t sell it when it actually would massively help me (and my garden) within the game.
So I’ve created this human, actually helpful guide to talk you through all of the different pets as I pick them up over the coming weeks, so you truly know which pets are the best in Grow A Garden. As I am someone that avidly plays and loves the game.

How Do You Get Pets In Grow A Garden?
You can get pets in a number of ways. The first, most easiest route, is purchasing “eggs” from the pet shop at the opposite end of the field, next to the Gear Shop.
Raphael mans the pet shop, and at the front of the shop, there’s a display with three different eggs you can purchase.
These eggs change up every 30 mins, and above Raphael’s head, there’s a countdown timer to let you know how long it is until the next egg refresh.
From this display, you can purchase eggs with your Sheckles in-game currency, or spend real Robux.
When you click “buy” on an egg, you get a pop-up screen showing you which pets you *might* get inside that particular egg, plus the probability as a percetage.
You then have to place the egg somewhere in your garden. Each egg has a different countdown time period, where you’ll have to wait for your egg to grow, until you’re able to “hatch” it and see which pet you got inside the egg.
There are now six different egg types you could get through the egg shop:
- Common Egg (white colored egg) = 99% of shops
- Uncommon Egg (beige colored egg) = 54% of shops
- Rare Eggs (cobalt blue colored egg) = 24% of shops
- Legendary Egg (yellow and orange colored egg) = 12% of shops
- Mythical Egg (red, brown and yellow ombre colored egg) = 7% of shops
- Bug Egg (yellow and green colored egg with insect wings) = 3% of shops
Once your egg is ready to hatch, it’ll say “hatch” on front of the egg, and it’ll open and reveal which pet you received.
As well as the eggs, you can also purchase one of three super rare blood moon themed pets during a blood moon.
Blood moon events happen on the hour, every hour, but it is randomized, and you only get a blood moon event 33% of the time.
If you do get lucky, and you have a blood moon event in your server, the sky turns bright red, and you’ll see a “blood moon shop” appear on the display of Wise Old Owl, and it’s in this “shop” you can purchase one of three rare pets;
- Blood Kiwi $20,000,000
- Blood Hedgehog $23,000,000
- Blood Owl $60,000,000
All three of these blood themed pets cost in-game currency, but they’re hard to get hold of, because the blood moon shop inventory changes up every time, so it’s hard to track them down – especially the blood owl.

Which Grow A Garden Pets Come In Which Eggs?
As I mentioned above, there are six different eggs available within the game, and each egg type has a set amount of pets you can get inside them.
I’m going to talk you through the pets in each egg and the probability of pulling each pet, plus the cost, so you can see how much they all cost.

There is also the Night Egg, but that’s not an egg that appears in the pet shop.
You can only get the Night Egg via the Wise Old Owl Moonlit Quest, by bringing him moonlit fruit.
Inside the Night Eggs, you can get the following pets:
- Hedgehog 40%
- Mole 22%
- Frog 14%
- Echo Frog 10%
- Night Owl 4%
- Raccoon 1%
The last three pets, I mentioned above, are only available for purchase during the Blood Moon events, and they’re not eggs, but you can purchase the pets during the Blood Moon event, and they are;
- Blood Kiwi
- Blood Hedgehog
- Blood Owl
We also have the Moon Cat, which launched in the Twilight Shop, and that wasn’t a pet you could hatch. You could purchase it fully grown.
We have now five bee pets, which are part of the Bee Eggs, and the five bees you can get are:
- Bee 65%
- Honey Bee 25%
- Bear Bee 5%

There are five pets inside the Anti Bee Pets, and those pets are:
- Wasp 55%
- Tarantula Hawk 20%
- Moth 13.75%
- Butterfly 1%
- Disco Bee 0.25%
We have three brand new eggs within the game, which celebrated as part of the summer update.
There’s the Summer Common Egg, which is 1,000,000 sheckles, and there are three pets you can get inside those eggs:
- Starfish – 50%
- Seagull – 25%
- Crab – 25%
Then we have the Summer Rare Egg which is 25,000,000 sheckles, and there are five pets inside the rare version of the egg, and those five pets are:
- Flamingo – 30%
- Toucan – 25%
- Sea Turtle – 20%
- Orangutan – 15%
- Seal – 10%
There’s also the Summer Paradise Egg which is 50,000,000 sheckles, with another five pets, and the pets inside the paradise egg are:
- Ostrich – 40%
- Peacock – 30%
- Capybara – 21%
- Scarlet Macaw – 8%
- Mimic Octopus – 1%
We have the new Oasis Egg, which is only available via the Summer Shop, where it costs 10 Summer Coins, and it contains the following pets:
- Meerkat – 45%
- Sand Snake – 34.5%
- Axolotl – 15%
- Hyacinth Macaw – 5%
- Fennec Fox – 0.5%
The Summer Shop also included a fully grown pet; the Hamster, which you bought for 15 Summer Coins.
There was also the Chicken Zombie pet, which you only got if you were online for the Grow A Garden Chicken Zombie update, and that was automatically gifted to you in your inventory.
We also had a Panda, but that was a limited time only pet, so the total of pets within the game is 44.

Why Would You Want Grow A Garden Pets?
The pets in Grow a Garden are actually one of my favorite features within the game.
Once you click on a pet within your inventory, the chosen pet will walk, crawl, jump or fly around your garden.
You need to feed them to help your pet to age. There are benefits to letting your pets age, and I’ll cover that in another post, but you do need to feed your pets.
You can use crops from your garden to feed them, but the hard part is trying to feed one.
They’re constantly moving (unless you have the snail) and you have three pop-up options; view, feed or pick up.
You have to click feed to feed them, and once you’ve fed them, a pop-up appears in white, to let you know how much of their hunger bar was filled by that crop you fed them.
Once your pet is strolling around your garden, they can actually give you benefits.
Each pet offers a different benefit, and you can have 3 pets in your garden at one time, unless you unlock the feature to have more pet slots in your garden, but you start with just 3 pets, and you want the pets that’ll enhance your game the most.

Ultimate Guide To Grow A Garden Pets and Their Benefits
Here, I am going to go through every single pet you can get in Roblox Grow A Garden, and talk you through the benefits of each pet, so you can see which pets are best for you and your garden.

Chicken Zombie
The Chicken Zombie pet is super rare now, and was only available for 15 minutes during the Chicken Zombie update on May 17th.
If you weren’t online for this update, you won’t be able to get your hands on this pet, unfortunately.
This pet’s benefit is that, every 30 minutes, there’s a 20% chance that a nearby fruit becomes “zombified”.
This is a brand new mutation, which cannot be obtained without having the Chicken Zombie pet, which is why so many people are desperate to get their hands on one.

Golden Lab Dog
The golden lab dog is themed around a Labrador dog, and every 60 seconds, there is a 10% chance it’ll dig up a random seed.
It is truly random too. Mine kept digging up carrot seeds, and I don’t have carrots planted anywhere in my garden.

Dog
This is a white dog with brown ears, and for this pet, every 60 seconds, there is a 5% chance it’ll dig up a random seed.

Bunny
It’s a white bunny rabbit, with pink inner-ears, and this pet will eat a carrot from your garden every 40 seconds, and you’ll receive 1.5x cash for the carrot it eats, plus it means you don’t have to run around trying to feed it, as it feeds itself from your carrots.

Black Bunny
This is a black bunny rabbit with pink inner ears, and for this rabbit, will, every 40 seconds, look for a carrot in your garden, eat it, and give you the 1.5x cash for the carrot it ate.

Chicken
This cute little chicken is clever, as not only does it increase your egg hatching time by 10%, if you have a rooster and a chicken pet equipped in your garden at the same time, it gives you an 11.45% chance that the chicken will lay an egg for you.

Cat
This is a grey cat with pink ears, and stripes across its head. You will notice this pet laying on its back every 80 seconds, with a circle around where the cat is laying, and it “naps” for 10 seconds, and new fruit within 10 studs will become 1.25x larger.

Deer
We have two deer in-game, the first being the plain brown deer with white antlers.
If you own this deer, it gives you a 3% chance for any berry plants you have, to replant themselves once you’ve harvested/picked all the berries.

Orange Tabby Cat
This is a ginger cat with pink ears, and stripes on its head. For this second cat, every 90 seconds it’ll take a 15-second nap on its back, and any new fruits within 15 studs will grow to be 1.5x larger.

Spotted Deer
This second deer looks just like the first deer, but this one has white spots on its forehead.
This deer gives you a 5% chance for any berry plants you have planted to not disappear when you harvest them.

Pig
If you love pigs, you’ll love this little pink pig. For this pet, every 118 seconds, it emits a 15-second aura, where it’ll give a 2x chance for the nearest plant within 15 studs to grow mutated, rarer fruits.

Rooster
The rooster has a teal body and a yellow head, and if you equip the rooster, it’ll speed up the egg hatching speed by 20%, and remember, as mentioned above, if you own the chicken and rooster together, the chicken can actually lay eggs for you.
Can we also laugh about how comically tiny my rooster is? He is so fast too, and a nightmare to get hold of and feed.

Monkey
We have two monkeys in the game, and this is the more basic monkey.
This one is brown with a pale brown face, and the monkey pet gives you a 2.5% chance of refunding fruit back to you when selling it, so you can sell it again, to get double the money for it.

Cow
The cow pet has a white body, and a brown spot over one of its eyes.
The cow allows all plants within 8 studs, to grow 1.12% faster, so it’ll help speed up the growing process, but by a tiny, tiny amount.

Silver Monkey
If you get the silver monkey, it’s white with a grey face, and it’ll give you an 8% chance that it’ll refund crops back to your inventory when trying to sell them.
You’ll get a pop-up message when trying to sell fruit, that you’ve been refunded.

Sea Otter
I love the sea otter so much, the little noises it makes are adorable.
If you have the sea otter, it’s brown with a white face, and it has a relly cool feature where it’ll “spray” water on a random plant for you, to speed up the growing process.

Turtle
The turtle is green all over and so cute.
It has a super cool feature too, where it’ll make any water sprinklers you have going in your garden, last for 25% longer, which is an amazing feature.

Polar Bear
I was dying to get my hands on the polar bear, its’ white with black claws, and every 90 seconds, the little polar bear will give you a 10% chance that it’ll magically turn a nearby crop either frozen, or chilled.

Grey Mouse
I got the grey mouse in the Mythical Egg, and it’s grey mouse with pink inner ears.
It grants additional 10.25% increase to player movement speed, so you can walk faster.

Brown Mouse
I also got the brown mouse in the Mythical Egg, and it’s identical to the grey mouse, except it’s brown instead of grey.
If you get this mouse, it grants players an additional 10.22% increase to player jump height.

Squirrel
This brown chunky squirrel gives you a 2.53% chance to not consume the seed when planting, so you can plant the seed again, which would be amazing for rare seeds like the cacoa tree seed.

Red Giant Ant
If you get this reddy brown chunky ant, it gives you a 5.18% chance harvested crops duplicated, and you get a pop-up message to say “lucky dupe, you got a bonus X” – and it works on special fruits too.
I got a frozen, shocked gold mango duplicated – I couldn’t believe it!
Red Fox
This is the rarest pet inside the Mythical Egg, and this pet is a cute little ginger fox.
Every 10 minutes, the red fox goes to a random player’s garden and tries to steal a seed from a random crop from their garden (but won’t steal event seeds).

Snail
The snake creeps me out a little, but it has a grey body and brown shell.
If you own this pet, the snail will give you a 5% chance you’ll get the pop-up message to say you’ve found a seed, and it works on special seeds too – it happened to me with a beanstalk seed!!

Giant Ant
For an ant, the Grow A Garden ant is adorable, and is a purple grey color with the cutest smiley face.
If you have the ant in your garden, and it gives you a 5% chance that crops you’re harvesting will duplicate.
You get a pop-up message that says something like “lucky dupe, you got an extra mango”, and the fruit you just picked will be duplicated within your inventory.

Caterpillar
This boxy little green caterpillar will allow your leafy plants to grow 2x quicker.
It is a nightmare to try and catch this pet to pick it up, or to feed it though, just a heads-up. You’ll be running around for ages!

Praying Mantis
Perhaps one of the coolest pets in Grow A Garden, the all-green praying mantis will start praying every 80 seconds, and when it prays for 10 seconds, it gives you a 1.5x chance to mutate crops within 10 studs of where the praying mantis is located.

Dragonfly
The dragonfly was the number one dreamie on my list, and is yellow, gold and brown with neon eyes.
If you have this super rare pet, every five minutes, it turns one random crop gold. It’s the most sought-after pet in the entire game, and for good reason.

Hedgehog
I love the hedghog design, he is so so cute. He is beige, with brown spines, and if you have him in your garden, it gives your prickly fruit a 1.5x size increase – so think dragonfruit, durian or cactus fruit.

Moon Cat
The Moon Cat is a limited edition pet which is available via the Twilight Shop, during the moonlit event.
It’s a slivery blue color with neon pink ears and nose, and neon blue whiskers and stripes.
Every 59.51 seconds she naps for 20.33 seconds somewhere in your farm, and during that time, she’ll make new fruit within 20.33 studs of her will be made 1.52 x larger. PLUS, you get a 6.10% chance “moon” type fruit stays after harvest.

Mole
The mole has to be one of the top tier pets to own, the animations and the noises are the coolest. It’s a black mole with pink feet and features.
Every 80 seconds, the mole goes underground, and comes back up with either around 1000 Sheckles, or a piece of gear its found underground.

Frog
This brightly colored green frog quickens the growth of a random crop in your garden every 20 mins.

Echo Frog
The echo frog version is blue with neon blue spots, and it’s one of my favorite pets to have.
Every 5 to 10 minutes, it makes a ribbit sound, and it’ll choose a crop you own to randomly increase the growth speed by 24 hours.
I have got some crazy giant fruits with these frogs, and they’re an amazing money earner, as they choose decent crops to increase in size.

Night Owl
This pet is blue and lilac with a glow surrounding him, and the benefit is that your other pets you have in your garden at the same time, with get an additional XP os 0.22 to 0.25.
That’s a bit of a boring benefit in my opinion, which is a shame, as the owl design is adorable

Raccoon
The raccoon is “the” pet to get, and he’s grey with black stripes and white eyebrows.
Every 15 minutes, the raccoon runs into the garden of another player, and duplicates one of their crops and runs back to you.
The player doesn’t lose their crop, you just get a duplicate, and it could be any crop at all.
This was my “dreamie” and I am so happy I finally got it, and mine was huge! You can’t even see my avatar when I hold him/her.

Kiwi
You can only get the kiwi by completing the Wise Old Owl quest, with the moonlit fruit.
It’s brown with a yellow beak and yellow feet, and every 60 seconds, it runs over to an unhatched egg you have, sits on it, sings and then quickens the egg hatching time by 25 seconds.

Blood Kiwi
The blood kiwi looks identical to the normal kiwi, except it has glowing red “blood” eyes, for an eerie vibe.
Every 60 seconds, it does the same as the original kiwi, and sits on the egg, but this version of the kiwi quickens the hatching time by 45 seconds (instead of 25 seconds for the normal kiwi).

Blood Hedgehog
The blood hedgehog looks just the normal hedgehog, except, just like the blood kiwi, the blood hedgehog also has red glowing eyes.
Like the ordinary hedgehog, the blood hedgehog increases the size of prickly fruits (dragon fruit and cactus fruit), but this version gives you both a 2x size bonus plus a 1.17x variant bonus, which is a mega upgrade on the ordinary hedgehog.

Blood Owl
The hardest pet to find in the blood moon shop is the blood owl. He looks just like the normal owl, except he too has glowing red eyes.
The benefits of having the blood owl, are that every pet you have equipped in your garden, gain 0.5 XP per second.

Owl
If you obtain 530 or more Lunar Points during the Lunar Glow Event, Wise Old Owl will gift you the Owl pet, and it’s the top prize within the event, and you’ll get it after you receive all of the other pets.
