Grow A Garden launched their Chicken Zombie Update yesterday (Saturday, May 17th), and it was such a fun update to be part of.
Once the update time rolled around, everyone’s screens cut to a video of the “Chicken Jockey” fighting the Wise Old Owl from the Lunar Glow event.
After the video finished, every player that was online at that time got gifted a chicken jockey pet for free.
We didn’t have to do anything to claim it, the chicken jockey pet was just added to our inventories, and during this time, the owner of the game was using the announcement feature to walk to players, and fill them in with how many live players were on Grow A Garden at the time.
With this brand new update, not only did we get an exclusive free chicken jockey pet, but we also got the introduction of the Blood Moon Events.
Usually, we get the Lunar Glow Event, and on the hour, every hour, we get to to enjoy the chance our crops will turn “moonlit”, and we can then donate these fruits to the Wise Old Owl in the center of the field, to claim rewards via the reward track.
Now, 33% of Lunar Glow Events will be Blood Moon Events, and you’ll know if you were lucky enough to get one of these events because the screen turns bright red with a massive blood moon in the sky.
During this event, your fruits won’t turn “moonlit”, instead they’ll become “bloodlit” with a red eerie glow to them.
As well as this, we now have a brand new egg within the pet shop next to the Gear Shop, and the newest egg is called “Mythical Egg.
The Mythical Eggs are 3,000,0000 Sheckles to purchase, or they’re 119 Robux, with a red, brown and yellow ombre design.
These Grow A Garden Mythical Eggs are “legendary” rated, and you will get one of five animals inside your egg once it hatches.
It is rare to get a Mythical Egg to show up, with Roblox giving us the following chances:
- Common Egg (white colored egg) = 99% of shops
- Uncommon Egg (beige colored egg) = 54% of shops
- Rare Eggs (cobalt blue colored egg) = 24% of shops
- Legendary Egg (yellow and orange colored egg) = 12% of shops
- Mythical Egg (red, brown and yellow ombre colored egg) = 7% of shops
- Bug Egg (yellow and green colored egg with insect wings) = 3% of shops
Once you manage to get hold of a Grow A Garden Mythical Egg, you have to place it on the ground, and wait for it to hatch.
Or, you can speed up the hatching process by paying 49 Robux, which will allow you to immediately open your Mythical Egg (or any of the other Grow A Garden Eggs).
Which Pets Are Inside The Grow A Garden Mythical Egg?
When you spend 3 million Sheckles, or 119 Robux on your Mythical Egg, you will receive one of these five pets at random, and they each have different odds:
- Grey Mouse – 35.71% chance
- Brown Mouse – 26.79% chance
- Squirrel – 26.79% chance
- Red Giant Ant – 8.93% chance
- Red Fox – 1.79%
What Are The Benefits For The Pets Inside Grow A Garden Mythical Eggs?
All of these pets offer different benefits, and reasons why you’ll want to choose them for your garden. Here’s a rundown of the benefits of each one:
Grey Mouse
Every 9:55m, gains additional 512.26 bonus experience. Grants additional 10.25% increase to player movement speed. (it really does make you walk faster)
Brown Mouse
Every 8:17m, gains additional 766.39 bonus experience. Grants additional 10.22% increase to player jump height. (This is perfect for those big jumps you have to do to get high up fruits/crops)
Squirrel
2.53% chance to not consume the seed when planting. Rarer seeds have lower chance to recover. (AKA you get a chance that the seed you’re planting duplicates)
Red Giant Ant
5.18% chance harvested crops duplicated. Rarer crops have lower chance to duplicate. 5.18% extra chance for fruit type crops to duplicate.
When I was harvesting crops with the ant in my garden, after I picked up a crop, I got a ding noise, and a pop-up message that read “Lucky dupe! You got a bonus mango!”, so I got a duplicate mango to the one I had just picked from the tree. Imagine this happening to super rare crops – it would be amazing!
Red Fox
Every 10 minutes, the red fox goes to a random player’s garden and tries to steal a seed from a random crop from their garden (but won’t steal event seeds).
I have four of the five pets so far, the two mice, the squirrel and the red giant ant, but trying to get hold of the fox.
They are all so cute, and the benefits for each pet are amazing, and well worth the price of the egg in-game.
