During the Grow A Garden Chicken Zombie event on May 17th, Grow A Garden also introduced their brand new Blood Moon Event.
Usually, on the hour, every hour, there’s a night event with Wise Old Owl, where random crops can turn “moonlit”, and you can donate these items to the Wise Old Owl, and do a prize track to earn super cool prizes.
Well, now we have a randomized moon event on the hour, where we can get the usual Moonlit event, or we can get the brand new Blood Moon event, which happens 33% of the time.

The Blood Moon Event happens only 33.33% of the time, so 66.66% of the time you’ll get the usual moon, where your crops will glow blue if they’ve been “moonlit”, but for 33.33% of the time, you’ll get the Blood Moon event, where your crops will glow red when they become “bloodlit”.
The sky turns an amazing red color, with a huge blood moon, and not only that, a special Blood Moon Shop opens up only during a blood moon event, and it is attached to the usual Wise Old Owl display in the center of the field.
When you manage to get a blood moon event, you can approach the Grow A Garden Blood Moon display, to access a selection of super rare items.
We don’t know how long the Blood Moon event is going to be running, so these items could be super rare, and if they remove the Blood Moon event, you won’t be able to get some of these items again, so if you do get lucky enough to get a bright red sky, make sure you run over to the Blood Moon Shop, to get access to these super rare items.

Grow A Garden Blood Moon Shop Stock
When you get lucky, and get a blood moon event within Grow A Garden, walk up to the Blood Moon shop and click “E” to access the shop, if you’re on desktop, or click “open” if you’re on mobile.
This will open a pop-up menu of the Blood Moon stock, and the stock does rotate in what is available, just like the usual Seed Shop and Gear Shop.
So, if you do manage to get a Blood Moon event, the items within the shop might not be the ones you want, so you’ll have to keep checking every time you get a blood moon, so you can get the items you’re after.
There are nine different items to purchase, and you purchase all of these items with Sheckles (the in-game currency), but for each item, there is also the option to purchase them with Robux.
Here is a full list of the items that are available within the Grow A Garden Blood Moon Shop, but remember, the stock availability does vary:

Mysterious Crate
Cost: 10,000,000 Sheckles
The Mysterious Crate item launches as part of the Blood Moon update in the Chicken Zombie event, and we have no idea what’s inside it.
Once you purchase it, you have to place it in your garden, and once you do, you get a pop-up countdown timer appear, and the countdown is for the upcoming Farm Cosmetics update (this coming Saturday).
On the pop-up message, there are six items that show up, but they’re blacked out, so we can’t see them, but it looks like the crate will give you one of the six items at random, but you won’t know what you got until the update launches.
It’s a super expensive mystery box, but it’s so fun not knowing what you’re getting.
A big tip though, once you place the crate, you cannot move it, so ensure it’s somewhere you’re happy to have it, as you’re stuck with whichever location you chose.

Night Egg
Cost: 25,000,000 Sheckles
Next up is the Night Egg, which usually you can only get with the Wise Old Owl Moonlit Event, where you swap moonlit crops for prizes.
You can purchase night eggs for 25,000,000 Sheckles, which is crazy expensive, but the pets inside the Night Eggs are all extremely rare, and they also give you the coolest benefits (check those here), so to me, it’s worth it. I need that raccoon in my life.

Night Seed Pack
Cost: 10,000,000 Sheckles
My favorite item to purchase during the Blood Moon event is the Night Seed Pack. You can only get these seeds during the Moonlit Event (unless you purchase them with Robux), and they have some super rare plants you can get.
Inside the Night Seed Packs, you get one of the following plants; Nightshade (40% chance), Glowshroom (20% chance), Mint (15% chance), Moonflower (10% chance), Starfruit (9.5% chance), Moonglow (5% chance) or Moon Blossom (0.5% chance).
I absolutely adore the Moon Blossom, and am lucky enough to have one so far, from opening endless packs, and it’s a seriously stunning tree. I am dying for more of the Moon Blossom or Moonglow, so whenever I see these seeds within the Blood Moon event, I buy them!
Blood Banana Seed
Cost: 200,000 Sheckles
We have two brand new plants within the Blood Moon shop, the first being the Blood Banana Seed, and it’s a plant which grows quite big but not very tall, and spralls out across the floor, with yellow and brown colored bananas.
Plus, it is a multi-harvest plant, so you can harvest the bananas over and over. It’s not my favorite, personally, as it takes up so much room of your flower bed, and it’s not the prettiest, but it’s still rare all the same.

Moon Melon Seed
Cost: 500,000 Sheckles
I love the Moon Melons, and I buy them every time I see them. They’re so cool, and I find that they’re so easy to get “celestial” from a meteor shower, and they become sparkly iridescent colors, and end up selling for SO much.
My favorite part about moon melons though, is how quickly they fill up your pet’s hunger bar! It doesn’t even need to be a mutated version, a basic moon melon will almost always fill up your pet’s entire hunger bar, so you don’t have to run around trying to chase them down feeding them dozens of crops.
They are another multi-harvest plant too, and you typically get two moon melons per crop, but the sizes vary wildly.
Star Caller
Cost: 12,000,000 Sheckles
I always stock up on the star callers, they’re such a great way to make currency. From the Wise Old Own Moon Event prize track, you’ll be aware of the Night Staffs, which are navy blue poles with a crescent moon on the top, and you place them in your garden.
When you put a night staff in your garden, it will randomly select one of your crops and transform it to be moonlit or bloodlit (depending on the moon event you have at the time).
However, thanks to the Blood Moon event, we now have the Star Caller, which works the same, except, this time, it attracts shooting stars during a meteor shower. Each star caller gives you 3 uses, and it’s amazing, and so worth the money.

Blood Hedgehog
Cost: 23,000,000 Sheckles
There are three rare pets within the Grow A Garden Blood Moon Shop, the first being the blood hedgehog. This hedgehog looks very similar to the usual hedgehog pet, except it has glowing red eyes.
When you equip the blood hedgehog, it boosts the size of any prickly fruits you have growing from both the Cactus and the Dragonfruit, so if you have either of those crops in your garden, this hedgehog will help to supersize those crops.

Blood Kiwi
Cost: 20,000,000 Sheckles
Just like the blood hedgehog, the Blood Kiwi is identical to the usual kiwi, except it has red glowing eyes. With the blood kiwi equipped, every 60 seconds, it quickens the hatching time by 45 seconds (instead of 25 seconds for the normal kiwi).

Blood Owl
Cost: 60,000,000 Sheckles
Lastly, the most elusive pet to find in stock (it’s almost always out of stock), is the blood owl, and this owl has a super cool red glow as it flies around your garden.
With the blood owl, every pet you have equipped in your garden, gain 0.5 XP per second.
