How Did You Get The Chicken Zombie In Grow A Garden?
The Chicken Zombie pet was given to every single player that was online during the Chicken Zombie update, on the 17th of May.
During the update, we saw a fun video of the chicken zombie pet fighting with the Lunar Glow owl, and the launch of the new Blood Moon Event.
The Chicken Zombie pet was automatically put into the inventory of every player that was online for this event, and you didn’t have to do anything to claim it. It just appeared once the video was finished.
It is a strange looking pet, as it’s a yellow chicken with tilted eyes (the regular chicken has straight eyes), with a green zombie farmer on his back like a jockey.
I don’t know if the sizes differed for everyone, but mine is tiny, and it’s a nightmare trying to find it in my farm.
So, I’m eternally grateful that the Grow A Garden team gave us that interface on the sidebar, so we can feed or pick-up our pets without having to chase them around the gardens.
If you weren’t online for the Zombie Chicken update, unfortunately, there’s no way to get your hands on it.
There is the option of trading, but I have heard horror stories of trading gone wrong, with hacking or scamming, so to me, it is not worth the risk.
What Are The Benefits Of Owning The Grow A Garden Zombie Chicken?
This creepy little chicken jockey pet is highly sought after as it was such a rare, limited-time event, but it also offers a benefit you can’t get from any other pets right now.
While it runs around your farm superfast, every 30 minutes, there’s a 20% chance that a nearby fruit becomes “zombified”.
This is a brand new mutation, which cannot be obtained without having the Chicken Zombie pet, which is why so many people are desperate to get their hands on one.
While the benefit does sound amazing, it is so, so rare that I find the zombified mutation happens.
Nearly every time, I get a notification on the screen to say the zombie chicken tried to apply the zombified mutation but failed.
Then, you just have to wait another 30 minutes to maybe get the mutation.
I hope they’ll do more zombified mutating pets in their Halloween update – that would be so cool especially for those that missed out on getting the zombie chicken jockey in the update.
