Are you excited about the brand new items to buy, since the Chicken Zombie Update yesterday (Saturday, May 17th)?
Not only did players get a free “chicken jockey” pet for free, if they were logged on and playing when the update dropped, but we got a whole new Blood Moon event, and a new shop of brand new items, which are all incredible.
The best, however, is the brand new range of Blood pets, with a Blood Hedgehog, Blood Kiwi and Blood Owl; all of which are amazing, and I have one Blood Owl to give away to one lucky reader.
Usually, on the hour, we get the Lunar Glow Event, where, for ten minutes, the sky goes dark, and random fruits/crops become “moonlit” with a blue glow to them, and the fruits/crops become 2x their value.
Well, thanks to the new Blood Moon event, which happens 33% of the time, the sky turns bright red with a huge Blood Moon, and instead of becoming “moonlit”, the crops become bloodlit, and they then become 4x their value.
Not only do we get higher value crops (when they become bloodlit and glow red), we also get access to a pop-up Blood Moon shop next to the Wise Old Owl’s display, and you can only access it when there’s a Blood Moon event and sky happening.
Inside the Blood Moon Shop, the contents vary in availability, just like the Seed Shop and Gear Shop, so you don’t know which items will be available for each Blood Moon event until the event happens, and sometimes, there’s multiples of some items, sometimes only one, and sometimes none at all.
It’s all down to luck, for when the event happens, as it’ll only happen 33% of the time. If you don’t get the Blood Moon event in your server, you can server hop, however, I’ve found that if you get even one moonlit fruit transformation, you won’t be able to find a blood moon event anywhere, for the whole 15 minute duration.
So, I tend to just stay put if that happens, as a Lunar Glow event is better than nothing in my opinion.
