One of the creepiest pets that launched as part of the Grow A Garden Ghoul Garden update was, undoubtedly, the Spider pet. If you have a phobia of spiders, like myself, you’re probably going to hate hatching the Spooky Eggs.
It is just one of the five pets inside the Spooky Egg, and I’m going to let you know what it does, and if it’s a pet you’re going to want to place in your garden.

The Spooky Egg is the newest Grow A Garden egg, and it features five Halloween-themed pets, and as far as eggs go, I actually think this is one of the best eggs we’ve had from Grow A Garden in a long time. I feel like all five pets have beneficial abilities, which is rare in recent updates.
There are a few ways in which you can get Spooky Eggs within the game. You can get them occasionally, when handing over Halloween fruits to the Ancient Jack-O-Lantern (which appears every two hours), occasionally when handing over any fruits to fill the Witch’s Cauldron, and also purchase them from the Creepy Critters stall (which appears on the hour, every hour for 15 minutes).
Of course, you can also use Robux to purchase the Spooky Eggs too, but you get the most eggs, from my testing, from doing the Ancient Jack-O-Lantern Halloween fruit hand-ins every 2 hours – you can even get 4 x Spooky Eggs as one reward sometimes.
When you do get a Spooky Egg, they each take 4 hours and 10 minutes to hatch, and these are the five pets you can hatch from them:
- Bat – 45% chance
- Bone Dog – 28% chance
- Spider – 18% chance
- Black Cat – 8.5% chance
- Headless Horseman – 0.5% chance

The Spider pet has a really eerie design, which I’m sure spooky lovers and spider lovers will like.
It’s black all over, with a super creepy face, and it crawls along the floor in your garden. I’ve seen people mutate their spiders with the Nightmare mutation, from the Headless Horseman pet, and the purple translucent design of the Nightmare mutation does look amazing on the Spider pet.
In a public server, I even saw a titanic spider with the Nightmare mutation (which makes your pets bigger in size), and it was absolutely huge, but it did look cool.

What Does The Grow A Garden Spider Pet Do?
Every 7:54 minutes, weaves an 18.50 stud web that lasts for 10.28 seconds. Pets on the web advance their cooldown an extra 1.03 seconds every second, and plants grow an additional 15.42 seconds every second.
Some people have been describing the Spider pet as being an easier-to-get Peacock, with the cooldown ability.
This spider I hatched, was 2.79kg at hatch (thanks to a bronto army), and at age 100, it would do its cooldown every 5:49 minutes, which is almost as decent as a rainbow Peacock of the same size. If you got this exact size Spider “rainbow”, the cooldown would be 4:11 minutes, and if you got it “Nightmare”, the cooldown would be 4:01 minutes.
This isn’t even a big spider – sure it’s big for a “normal” hatch, because I used a bronto army, but imagine the cooldown for semi-huge, huge, titanic and godly sized spiders with and without mutations.
Considering this spider is only an 18% chance, making it pretty common, it’s a decent ability pet, and well worth keeping, if you want pets to help lower the cooldown of other pet, plus a boost to plant growing speeds all-in-one.
