Grow A Garden 2 only launched two weeks ago, and we already have a ton of pets within the game.
When the game first launched, there were just 10 pets, and we’ve already seen the number increase with random introductions of pets.
Each pet offers you a different ability, and you’re able to equip up to 6 pets at one time.
Hopefully, we’ll be able to increase the max 6 equip pet slots to 8, like we could in the original Grow A Garden. Keep on reading to find out all about the different pets within the game.

There are two different ways in which you can acquire new pets (without trading via the Mailbox feature).
You can see pets spawning randomly around the map, surrounding the shops in the center.
Each pet that spawns will appear for 5 minutes, and you’ll see a red timer above their head, to tell you when the pet will disappear.
You can also “win” pets by completing in Guild competitions, and you can also “win” Pet Eggs by competing in the Guilds, but the main and easiest way to acquire pets is by purchasing them when you see them spawn randomly around the center of the map.

Frog
The Frog is a common rarity, costs $10,000 and its ability is “Hops around your garden and boosts your jump height by +5“.
For each Frog you have equipped, it’ll boost your height be +5, as the abilities are stackable.

Bunny
The Bunny is a common rarity pet, will cost you $20,000, and it has a really helpful ability: “Hops around your garden and boosts your walk speed by +5“.
Without any bunnies equipped, your default walk speed is SO slow in Grow A Garden 2, so the Bunny really helps to make you walk faster, even if it’s just for walking between the shops every 5 minutes.
I always have one Bunny equipped at all times, as I like how it makes it quicker to harvest your fruit; especially if you see a high sell price within the Sell Shop, and want to harvest and sell as quickly as possible.
Again, the abilities stack, so the more bunnies you equip, the quicker you’ll walk.
It’s also helpful if you do the stealing mechanic, as you can walk speedily away from the other person’s garden.

Owl
The Grow A Garden 2 Owl is an uncommon rarity and it’ll set you back $25,000.
For the ability, it “Extends you view distance by 12.5% at night and hoots loudly when a rare pet spawns“.
The extending you view distance is helpful only for stealing, as you’ll be able to see other people’s gardens better when night falls.
I personally don’t do the stealing, so it’s not a feature I find useful.
However, the hooting is only useful if you play with sound on, as it makes a hoot sound whenever a rare pet spawns in your server.
It is just one single hoot, so you have to be listening out for it, but it’s not a pet I ever have equipped.

Deer
For the Deer, it is a rare rarity pet, and it costs $50,000. When equipped, it “Trots around your garden and helps plants grow 10% faster“.
When you’re early to mid game, the Deer is so helpful as it makes everything grow back quicker, which is ideal when you want to keep harvesting and selling over and over, to generate as much income as possible, so you can buy the rarer (and more expensive) seeds and gear.
With six Deer equipped, everything grows back super fast, which is also useful for when the Sell Shop has a high sell multiple on a plant, and you want to harvest/sell as much as you can before the sell prices get refreshed every 10 minutes.

Turtle
The Turtle is another rare pet, and it’ll cost $70,000. Its ability is “Lugs a heavy shell that adds +10 backpack space but slows your walk speed by 2“.
The Turtle is very helpful for when the Daily Deal feature, where once a day, you can sell your inventory and get double the value.
When I want to use the Daily Deal, I equip six Turtles, and then do my harvesting, as that boosts your fruit backpack space from the standard 100 to 160, so you really maximize your Daily Deal earnings.
As soon as I’ve done my Daily Deal for the day, I remove them all, but it’s a good way for free to play players to massively boost their Daily Deal earnings.

Robin
The Robin is a legendary pet and costs 75,000. There is only a 2.86% chance for the Robin to spawn, so it is pretty rare compared to the above pets.
When equipped, it’ “Flies around your garden eating ripe fruit and sometimes drops seeds“.
For this pet, it’ll eat a random fruit in your garden; you can’t control what it can and can’t eat, so it could eat your rarest and biggest fruit.
It is guaranteed it’ll eat your fruits at random, but it only sometimes drops seeds, making it risky that it’ll eat something valuable and not give you a seed in return.
When it does “drop” seeds, you’ll see the seed spinning around on the ground, and you have to walk up to it, and collect it.
It doesn’t teleport its way to you like it does in the original Grow A Garden and the Dog, Shiba Inu or Bone Dog pet.
It’s not like you can just AFK, and the “free” seeds will make their way to your avatar – you have to manually collect each seed.
Bee
The Bee is another legendary pet, and is a lot more expensive than the other legendary; the Robin, as it costs $1,000,000 sheckles.
It “Patrols your garden and swarms intruders to defend your fruit“.
If you want to protect your fruit, when night falls, the Bee supposedly helps to defend your fruit.
It does a really poor job unfortunately, but if you don’t have any other methods for protecting your fruit (like gear items or attacking plants), it is better than nothing, but for a 1 million sheckle pet, it should do a better job.

Monkey
Monkey is a mythic rarity pet, and costs $3,000,000. It “Swings around your garden and occasionally picks ripe fruit and brings is straight to you.”
I don’t know why anyone would want that ability to happen.
Maybe if you AFK, but just pick up your fruit when you’re back actively playing, once things have been mutated.
You don’t want the Monkey to pick your ripe fruit when it hasn’t yet been mutated, as you won’t earn the best possible price.

Golden Dragonfly
For the Golden Dragonfly, it is another mythic pet, and it “Flies around your garden and doubles the chances for plants and fruit to turn gold.”
I think the Golden Dragonfly and Unicorn are the two best pets in Grow A Garden 2.
With each Golden Dragonfly you have equipped, you’re doubling your chance of getting a gold plant and gold fruits.
In original Grow A Garden, the dragonfly could turn fruits golden at random, but with Grow A Garden 2, your Golden Dragonfly *could* turn your fruit or your plants gold, which is so cool.
If your plant is gold, there’s a much higher chance for the fruits to grow as a gold fruit, which is a 4.5x multiplier.

Unicorn
The Unicorn is another mythical pet, costs $12,000,000 and “Trots around your garden and doubles the chance for plants and fruit to turn rainbow.”
The Unicorn is like the brother of the Golden Dragonfly, which can turn plants/fruit gold, whereas the Unicorn can turn plants/fruit rainbow, which is amazing.
The multiplier for a rainbow fruit is 40x, making rainbow fruit extremely valuable.
Many players are equipping six Unicorns to maximize their chances for rainbow fruits and plants, as it is such a great method for earning sheckles.

Bear
The Bear is the most recent pet to be introduced, and is another mythic pet costing $5,000,000.
For the Bear, it “Defends your garden by tackling intruders, pinning them down, then throwing them away.”
The Bear is a lot more effective at protecting your garden than the Bee.
It is super rare to spawn though, with just a 0.225% chance.

Raccoon
The Raccoon is a super rarity pet, costs $15,000,000 and it “Sneaks out at night to steal fruit from empty gardens and raises your steal limit by +25.”
When night falls, your Raccoon will walk across to an unlocked garden at random, and steal a fruit for you.
This allows you to walk around and steal fruits yourself, and allow your Raccoon to steal a fruit for you at the same time.
Plus, it increases your steal carry limit to +25 for each Raccoon you have equipped, so you can steal a crazy amount of fruit.
Obviously, your Raccoon could choose a near empty garden and end up stealing a strawberry, but it has the ability to steal any fruit from any unlocked garden.
Ice Serpent
The Ice Serpent is a super rarity pet, and was a reward pet for participating in the first week of the Guilds competition.
There were multiple variations of the Ice Serpent (Big, Rainbow, Mega), with improved ability buffs, but the standard sized Ice Serpent’s ability is “Flies around your garden and breathes frost on intruders, freezing them solid.”
It puts the intruder into a block of ice, which freezes them in place, which is helpful if they’re trying to steal your fruit.
With the rainbow variation, it freezes the player 1.25x as hard, so you get a longer lasting ice block on the intruder player.
Black Dragon
The Black Dragon is another Guilds reward prize, and is for this week’s competition.
Its ability is similar to the Ice Serpent; “Flies around your garden and breathes fire on intruders, setting them ablaze.”
It breathes fire on players instead of ice, but helps to protect your fruit.
