We got lots of new pets in the Grow A Garden Ghoul Garden update, with five new egg pets, plus the Creepy Critters shop with shop-bought pets, all with a Halloween theme.
The Spooky Egg is the brand new egg, and from the five pets you can hatch from the Spooky Egg, the Black Cat pet is the second-rarest pet from the egg, with the Headless Horseman being the rarest. Keep on scrolling to find out all about the new Black Cat pet…

We can purchase the Spooky Egg using the Candy Corn currency, which you earn by either filling up the Witches’ Cauldron every 2 minutes, or by handing Halloween fruits to the Ancient Jack-O-Lantern. Both of these methods will give you Candy Corn currency.
If you want to purchase the Spooky Egg from the Creepy Critters stall, it’ll cost you 30 Candy Corns per egg, and there tends to be between 1 and 3 Spooky Eggs in stock each hour.
You can also purchase the Spooky Eggs with Robux, or you can get the Spooky Eggs for free (at random intervals) when handing in Halloween plants to the Ancient Jack-O-Lantern or filling up the Witch’s Cauldron.
When placed, the Spooky Egg takes 4 hours and 10 minutes to hatch, which is an improvement on the crazy 8-hour hatch time of the new Jungle Egg.
Inside the Spooky Egg, these are the five brand pets you can potentially hatch:
- Bat – 45% chance
- Bone Dog – 28% chance
- Spider – 18% chance
- Black Cat – 8.5% chance
- Headless Horseman – 0.5% chance

The Black Cat pet is adorable. It has the same cat shape as the Ginger Tabby, Cat and Moon Cat pets, but it’s black all over, with purple eyes, whiskers and mouth, a pink nose, and it’s wearing a super cute black and purple witch’s hat and witch’s cloak, with a gold and green gem under its chin.
It really is a super cute design, and it couldn’t be more perfect for a Halloween themed cat. The hat makes the cat look massive when you’re hatching one, so I can’t imagine how massive the titanic versions look.

What Does The Grow A Garden Black Cat Pet Do?
Every 3:58 minutes, goes to a Witch’s Cauldron Cosmetic, and naps near it for 14.92 seconds. New fruit within 10.28 studs will be 1.28x larger.
The Black Cat pet behaves just like the other 3 cats within the game – where it’ll nap for a short period of time, and any fruits on plants within the circle surrounding the napping cat will grow larger.
If you don’t have Pancake Stacks (from the cooking event), the Black Cat is going to be super powerful, because it works with the Witch’s Cauldron (which you get from the Pumpkin Crate), and you only need one single Witch’s Cauldron, and the cats placed automatically will walk over to the cauldron and nap.
Allowing you to use your Trowel, and move your chosen plant beside the cauldron, while the cats are napping. It is amazing that you only need one single cauldron too, and you’ll be able to grow massive plants by stacking your Black Cats together.
It is best to place your Black Cat pets down all at the same time, so their size bonus stacks, providing they’re around the same size/weight, as you want them to nap together, so their circles overlap, for the biggest possible fruits.
Make sure you get yourself the Pumpkin Crates during the Halloween event, as the Witch’s Cauldron is only a 5% chance, and it is Mythical in rarity.
You do only need one single cauldron, even if you have 8 x Black Cats, so definitely get your hands on one while you can, so you can use the Black Cats at any point in the future, as you don’t need to worry about using Pancake Stacks or Pet Leads to try and get the Black Cats in the right place, which is SO helpful.
