You’ve probably heard people talking about the “Disco” event in the Roblox Grow A Garden game, but what even is it?
If you weren’t online for the “event”, you will have missed it, but I’m going to talk you through what it is, when it happens, and why you *need* to be there, next time there’s a Disco event happening within Grow A Garden.

On May 17th, Grow A Garden had their Zombie Chicken event, which was created to celebrate the launch of their new Blood Moon event within the game.
With the Blood Moon, you get access to a Blood Moon Shop, with super exclusive items (and pets), plus, instead of your crops turning blue from being “moonlit”, they become red from being “bloodlit”, and it’s such an eerie, but cool color, and it looks amazing mixed with crops that are blue from being bluelit.
During the Zombie Chicken event, every player that was online at the time received a free pet, which is a little chicken with a zombie riding on its back. It’s such a cool pet, and if you didn’t attend the event, you won’t ever be able to get your hands on the little zombie chicken.
It has a decent benefit too, as it can “zombify” your crops, to make them even more rare and valuable.
During the event, the devs introduced the blood moon event with a video on-screen, and used the broadcast function to post messages for every player to read.
If you see these broadcast messages, don’t ever leave the server, as it always means that we’re going to get something good – either thunder, or blood moon, or maybe both.
During the Zombie Chicken event, the game hit a record of 5 million concurrent users (aka 5 million people were playing Grow A Garden at the same time), and to celebrate this achievement, Jandel (the game’s owner), activated the “Disco” event.

What Is The Grow A Garden Disco Event?
During gameplay, we get regular weather “events” (chilled, snow, rain, thunder, blue moon or blood moon) which are advertised by a little square icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen, and you can click the square, and it’ll tell you what the event is, and what can happen to your crops during this event.
While everyone was online during the event, Jandel activated “disco”, which is an admin-only event.
That means only an admin can turn it on, and it will not happen at random. Well, technically, it is at random, as it’s the devs that decide to it, and it’s random for us, and we don’t know when it’s going to happen.
During the disco event, there is a little glitterball icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen, and when you click it, it says “DISCO: small chance for fruit to turn DISCO” – and the word Disco is written in rainbow colors.
Then, the song “it’s raining tacos” comes on quite loudly, and your avatar stars dancing uncontrollably on the screen to the dance.
Jandel told us to pick up one of our pets and hold it for Disco, because we then dance to the song while holding the pet, so the pet dances too, which was so cute.
While the music is playing, and your avatar is dancing (in front of your garden plot), the floor/grass flashes through the colors of the rainbow, and the background with your farm behind you, also flashes colors while you’re dancing.
That is not the magic though. During the “disco” event, your crops can become “disco” where they’ll flash neon colors. Just like thunderstorms, you have no idea if you’ll get “hit” by the event, or which crop, but if you do, your crop/s will become colorful and flashy.
I had two crops that become disco, a bamboo right at the front of my garden, and a berry of some kind, I think it was, and I ended up selling that by accident, so if you do get lucky, and get a crop “Disco”, make sure you use the favorite tool to lock the crop, so you don’t accidentally sell it.
(Look at this video above, and you’ll see the disco bamboo I have at the front of my garden)
It’s such a rare event, and you don’t want to lose your disco, flashing colorful crops, if you’re lucky to get them!
The Grow A Garden Disco events only happen during updates, so if you want to see the disco event in action, you need to attend one of, or all of the Grow A Garden events, and you’ll be able to see the amazing effects in action.
