Did you take part in the super fun Grow a Garden Chicken Zombie event on Saturday? You only had to be online, and you were treated to a free chicken jockey pet, but also a brand new “disco” weather event, which turned crops into flashing neon colors.
Well, the next update is launching on Saturday, and if you did miss out on the Chicken Zombie event, you do not want to miss out on this event, incase they give us four Disco events again, and more freebies. Let’s talk about their upcoming Saturday update…
The Chicken Zombie event was a little ambiguous in the announcement information.
You couldn’t really know what the event was going to be, but I think that makes it kinda more fun. It’s unexpected, and it was only about 20 minutes in total, so you didn’t have to waste lots of time.
When is The Grow A Garden Farm Cosmetics Update?
The upcoming Grow A Garden Farm Cosmetics update launches this Saturday, May 24th, and it launches at 10am EST, 7am PDT and 10am EDT.
You do not want to miss this event. You just need to log on for the time, and be in the game, and you’ll be entitled to any freebies, or any special effects like the new admin-only “Disco” effect, which turns your crops flashing neon colors, and it also made your characters dance too, in your gardens, it was so fun.
This update is going to run from the 24th of May (Saturday) to the following Saturday, the 31st of May.
What Is Happening In The Grow A Garden Farm Cosmetics Update?
As part of the new Farm Cosmetics Update, during the Blood Moon Events which happen in 33% of servers on the hour, every hour, we get access to a Blood Moon Shop.
In the shop, one of the items we can buy is “Mysterious Crate” which is a square-shaped, wooden crate, with the only message “what could be inside?” and it is ranked “legendary” in terms of how rare it is.
I have bought five of the crates, as I LOVE a mystery bag situation, but they are hecking expensive for in-game currency, so wait until you have enough money after a combination of weather events.
When you walk near the crates, you get the above pop-up message appear, and to me, it looks like the contents inside the crate will be one of six potential items, and there’s a countdown clock on the boxes, which has a timer until the update.
So, we cannot open these crates until the update launches, which is so so fun. I wish Dress To Impress did stuff like this, it creates so much suspense, and I’m genuinely excited to see what items are going to be in my crates.
In terms of the update, and what it could possibly mean by “farm cosmetics”, the game launched this statement:
Time to spruce up your garden with an update jam-packed with awesome ways to customize your farm! Join us this update to unlock and bring to your garden a huge assortment of cosmetic items. From friendly garden gnomes to impressive water fountains, this Grow a Garden update is for those who are ready to take their garden aesthetics to the next level.
In the photo with the blacked out images, you can clearly see a water fountain, three garden gnomes, a table or bench (maybe a potting bench?) and a wheelbarrow / pushcart (depending on where you’re from).
It sounds like this update will allow us to personalize our gardens, and maybe even get new flowers and plants? That would be so cool, and it’s just so exciting whatever it is, and I cannot wait to see what’s inside my crates.
