The Grow A Garden Safari Harvest update launched yesterday, and with the update, we got a brand new egg.
The Safari Egg is the latest egg to grind for, with five safari animal pets to try and hatch.
With the Spooky Egg, in the Halloween update, we got the Headless Horseman, which is the best pet we ever got within the game, thanks to its ability to give the Nightmare mutation. However, the Safari Egg has a pet which will change Grow A Garden forever.

What Is The Grow A Garden Elephant Pet?
The Safari Egg is the newest egg within the game, and you can purchase it for Robux, via the Shop on the left-side of the screen.
Luckily, we can get the Safari Eggs for free, by participating in the Safari Harvest event in the center of the map.
Every 30 minutes, “Safari Joyce” (the NPC in front of the massive shipping containers) has a different “craving”, and you have to hand-in fruit/vegetables/flowers that fit that craving.
Each fruit has a points value, depending on how rare the plant is (common plants give the lowest points and transcendent plants give the highest points).
There’s a little points total board on one side of the shipping container, and for every 500 points worth of items you hand in, you’ll get “Individual Rewards”, which you can view by clicking on the board.
We have lots of rewards we can get from low-value items like Watering Cans and Reclaimers, to higher value items like Safari Eggs, Paradise Eggs and Energy Chews.
Inside the Safari Egg, there are five brand new pets:
- Oxpecker – 50% chance
- Zebra – 25% chance
- Giraffe – 16% chance
- Rhino – 8.5% chance
- Elephant – 0.5% chance

What Does The Grow A Garden Elephant Pet Do?
“Every 22:36 minutes, blesses an age 50 pet, resetting its age back to 1, increasing its base weight by 0.1kg if its base weight is less than 2.12kg. Cannot bless other Elephants. Cannot be mimicked or refreshed.”
The Grow A Garden Elephant is an insane pet, because it increases the hatch weight of pets you already own.
There are two types of the Elephant. The free to play version, which is the version I have, from hatching it from a free Safari Egg, but there’s also the Rainbow Hatched Elephant, which you can potentially get from the paid Premium Safari Eggs.

With my free to play Elephant, I hatched it at 2.40kg, and at age 100, its ability will be:
“Every 17:56m, blesses an age 44.25 pet, resetting its age back to 1, increasing its base weight by 0.1 KG if its base weight is less than 3.2 KG! Cannot bless other Elephants. Cannot be mimicked or refreshed.”
If my Elephant, at this exact size of 2.40kg, was a Rainbow Hatched Elephant, its ability would be:
“Every 11:24m, blesses an age 34.25 pet, resetting its age back to 1, increasing its base weight by 0.1 KG if its base weight is less than 4.2 KG! Cannot bless other Elephants. Cannot be mimicked or refreshed.”
I’ll try and explain as succinctly as I can:
For the free Safari Egg, the Elephant will choose a pet from your garden which is age 44.25 (or above), reset the age down to age 1, and increase the hatch weight by 0.1kg – ONLY if the pet was hatched under 3.2kg.
It will NOT work on semi-huge, huge, titanic or godly sized pets, but it allows you to increase the hatch weight/size of your pets.
If for example, you had a 1kg store bought Bald Eagle, the Elephant, over time, will gradually increase that 1kg weight upto 3.2kg size at age 1, meaning, at age 100, your 3.2kg Bald Eagle would be 32kg, which would be incredible.
So, you would obviously have to age up your (example) Bald Eagle to age 44.25 each time, for the Elephant to perform its ability, and it will take 22 of the Elephant’s 0.1kg increases, to get to the 3.2kg birth weight.
I recommend, getting your target pet you want to increase the hatch weight for, to age 43, and then place your Elephant down, in your garden, with the target pet, so you don’t have to wait the full 17:56 minutes for the Elephant to perform its ability, when your pet is ready and aged 44.
It’s a complicated process to understand, compared to other Grow A Garden pets, but in a nutshell, this one pet can take your small pets to semi-huge, which is game breaking.
As an example, of the 1kg Bald Eagle I gave above:
- A Bald Eagle that was 1kg when purchased (from the 4th of July shop), would be 10kg at age 100, and would give you a 70.4% chance for the egg hatching time advance (every 7:04 minutes) to be multiplied by 3.6.
- A Bald Eagle that was 3.2kg (thanks to the FREE Safari Egg Elephant), would be 32kg at age 100, and would give you a 70.4% chance for the egg hatching time advance (every 7:04 minutes) to be multiplied by 7.56.
- A Bald Eagle that was 4.2kg (thanks to the Premium Rainbow Hatched Safari Egg Elephant), would be 32kg at age 100, and would give you a 70.4% chance for the egg hatching time advance (every 7:04 minutes) to be multiplied by 9.36.
