Grow A Garden NEW Chubby Chipmunk Nutty Fever Update REVEAL [Spoilers]

The newest Grow A Garden update has been officially announced, and is launching this Saturday.

It is the Grow A Garden Chubby Chipmunk Nutty Fever Event, which looks like it’s going to potentially replace this week’s update; Seed Stages.

Most Grow A Garden fans assumed that the Fall Market update was going to be a three-week update, after squirrel/chipmunk videos were posted in the “Leaks” channel of their official Discord, but it looks like that idea was scrapped, and the Seed Stages update was created instead.

Well, it now looks like the Fall Market update has an extension of sorts, with a new, another Fall-themed update coming our way…

Like always, it was DJ Jhai that did the official announcement within the Discord Announcements channel, and the announcement read:

“THIS WEEKEND

Chubby Chipmunks + More… 🐿️🥜

A new event with a unique twist, rewards, seeds, pets, weather, and lots more!“

Whilst I think most of us can agree, the Fall Market update (week one and week two) was pretty boring, I don’t think anything will ever top how boring the Seed Stages update was.

There is nothing to do, and the repetition of handing in the Evo 3 fruits is mind-numbingly boring, and I’ve never seen the player count for Grow A Garden be as low as it has been the past week. 

It is possible the Seed Stages concept won’t be removed from the game, and perhaps a new stall/stand will appear, for those that want to evolve their seeds. But, the event display is going to be entirely replaced by the new Chubby Chipmunk event. 

When the Nutty Fever event was first announced, the above photo was used to promote the event, however, 25 minutes later, this image was replaced entirely, with the new image of a “chubby” chipmunk (posted below).

I wonder why they replaced the image? Perhaps people were criticizing the above image? I don’t know, but the above image is now nowhere to be seen.

In the above image, we can see a stand with a sign that reads “FREE CHIPMUNK”, with the chipmunk pet from the Fall Market update underneath.

In the center of the image, there’s a brand new NPC wearing denim overalls, standing in front of a wooden cart, which looks suspiciously similar to the cart in the Summer Harvest event, and we’ll have to hand the “nut acorns” to the NPC, with the following options when you speak to him:

• View rewards
• Who are you?
• Submit held fruit
• Submit all fruit
• Nevermind

The Grow A Garden spoiler images are always terrible quality, but you can see the cart is full of acorns and there’s a sign above with “NUT ACORNS”, with a counter over the top with “NUTTY FEVER PROGRESS 0/900”.

Underneath the counter, there’s a tally, and it’s “0 UNCLAIMED REWARDS”, so it looks like a mash-up of the Fall Market event meets the Summer Harvest event.

We’re going to have to hand-in “nut acorns” and when we reach 900 nut acorns, by handing them over to the new NPC, we’ll unlock “rewards”, and we’ll have to “claim rewards” like we did with the Fall Energy Rewards.

Here is the NEW image for the event, with a chipmunk with a completely different design to the Chipmunk pet we could buy from the Fall Pets shop within the Fall Market.

It is strange that would remove the other image after only 25 minutes, so I’m glad I saved it before it was wiped.

In the description for the event, it promises the following:

• New rewards
• New seeds
• New pets
• Quality of life updates
• New weather
• Lots more

There is no mention of a new egg, but it has been confirmed we are getting a new chest. It is called the Nutty Chest, and like all chests, it contains three seeds, and three pets.

Here are the items in the chests, and their percentages:

• Hazelnut Seed – 34.5% chance
• Farmer Chipmunk Pet – 34.5% chance
• Persimmon Seed – 14.5% chance
• Idol Chipmunk Pet – 14.5% chance
• Acorn Seed – 1% chance
• Chinchilla Pet – 1% chance

Here is a look at how the rewards are going to work, with a sliding scale depending on how heavy your chipmunk pet weighs. We are going to want our chipmunk to be as heavy as possible.

In the above image, you can see that you’ll get a Nutty Chest when your chipmunk reaches 2kg in weight, and an Energy Chew when your chipmunk reaches 4kg.

I’d assume the rewards get better as the chipmunk gets heavier.

Here is a look at the Chubby Chipmunk pet, and it has a crazy ability.

“Every 4:58 minutes, eats a fruit in your garden and gains 0.009KG weight (ignores favorited or single-harvest fruits)

When fed, has a 15.10% chance to gain 0.01KG weight! Each mutation on the fed fruit grants an additional 3.29% chance to gain 0.01KG!.“

I’ll update this post whenever new spoilers are shared, but I’m excited to see what other features and rewards will be coming our way in the new Grow A Garden Chubby Chipmunks update.
