Well, it is official, Grow A Garden 2 has been officially announced. The original Grow A Garden first launched on the 25th of March 2025, and it is very close to the one year anniversary.
Ever since the amazing Christmas updates, Grow A Garden has massively declined in terms of game content, and it has now been confirmed, it is because they have been working on Grow A Garden 2.
There have been rumors for months that a Grow A Garden 2 was coming. It has been so hard to see the game so many of us love, fall so hard, and so quickly.
The updates have been so disappointing ever since Christmas; the new year update which was literally just a shop and no event, the feed a pet update, the birds nest update, two weeks of buttercups, two weeks of Valentines, other Alien Invasion update and the current update – the Harvest Party update. It has been 10 weeks since we had a good update, which is crazy for a game that’s still not even a year old.
Frazer, a developer and Community Manager in the official Grow A Garden Discord confirmed that Grow A Garden 2 was coming and answered some questions many Discord members had about the introduction of Grow A Garden 2.
Someone rightfully asked Frazer “What is the point of making a new game when you can just keep the original game and make good updates for it”
This was Frazer’s telling reply…
“A lot of people have asked us this and now that GAG 2 is confirmed I’d like to give an actual answer
Grow a Garden blew up really quick, and the team had to deliver packed weekly updates. This didn’t give anyone a chance to improve how the game works internally, so over time, the source code became a mess, and now it’s extremely difficult for us to maintain and build upon. Grow a Garden 2 gives us the chance to learn from all the mistakes we made from GaG, and hopefully provide a much better game! Updates on GaG have been a bit poor due to us working full time on this new project”
Frazer basically agreed “updates on GaG have been a bit poor”, and that the reason the updates have been so lacking, is because they’re working on this Grow a Garden 2.
What is worrying, is that Frazer specifically said “We will still be delivering (or atleast trying our best to) weekly updates to GaG until Grow a Garden 2 is released”, so it looks like we won’t be getting weekly updates to Grow A Garden once Grow A Garden 2 is released, which is beyond gutting.
Whilst it was confirmed “Grow a Garden won’t be shutting down and your merch definitely won’t be taken away”, if they’re going to just stop with the weekly updates once the successor launches, it looks really bleak for those of us that invested a lot of time and real life money in the game.
We’ve seen Adrian (the owner of Grow A Garden) share videos of a new game inside the official Grow A Garden Discord for weeks now, and it’s now obvious that those videos and sneak peeks are of the new upcoming Grow A Garden 2.
In the videos we can see multiple raccoons running into another players garden and stealing fruits.
The game doesn’t look as high quality as Grow a Garden, and it looks kinda like an arcade game rather than a Roblox game.
Some people have described the videos shared, as being a Grow A Garden meets Steal A Brainrot hybrid, as there’s mentioning of stealing in every screenshot, which, ironically, was the biggest complaint of the original Grow A Garden.
People HATE the stealing mechanic in Grow A Garden, especially now you can steal people’s fruits with Trade Tokens.
Now it looks like the new Grow A Garden 2 is going to be themed around stealing entirely, with some other new features.
In the most recent screenshot, you can see along the top of the screen: Props (new), Seeds, Garden, Sell and Gears (new).
There is a Store option on the left side of the screen, just like the original, a “Friend Boost” feature, just like the original and on the Hot Bar at the bottom, you can see a “Build” feature, which is something completely new.
We don’t know when Grow A Garden 2 is going to launch, but I’d assume it will be sometime soon, especially with the anniversary of the original Grow A Garden coming up in under 2 weeks.
