Grow A Garden announced their latest upcoming update, dropping this Saturday, and it’s the Grow A Garden Safari Harvest Event update, replacing the entire Halloween update we have right now.
This is going to be a big update, as not only are we getting a new event, with the Safari Harvest event, but we’re getting a brand new Season Pass too, so you’re going to need to do some specific things to prepare for this update. Keep reading to find out more…

Complete Your Halloween Mini Achievements In Your Garden Guide
Right now, within your Garden Guide, we have the Halloween Event Part 1 Achievements and the Halloween Event Part 2 Achievements.
Completing them both will give you a host of rewards, that you’re not going to want to miss. With Part 1, you get a cool Pumpkin Fence, but with Part 2, you get a Mausoleum cosmetic, eggs, gear boxes, crates and chests, all of which are valuable rewards.
It is likely both Halloween Achievements will have the red “EXPIRED” stamped on them come Saturday, like they did with the Fall Event and Fairy Event Achievements, so get working on completing both of the Halloween Achievements before you’re unable to.

Grind Those Spooky Eggs
The Spooky Eggs are one of the best eggs we’ve ever got in an update, with three of the five pets being amazing, which never happens. Usually, with eggs, there’s one stand-out pet, and the rest are pretty mid.
With the Spooky Eggs, the Headless Horseman is one of the best pets they’ve introduced, with the Nightmare mutation being the best pet mutation in the game.
Not only is the Headless Horseman a must-have, but the Black Cat is now the best cat in the game, for growing crazy huge plants.
It now beats the Moon Cat and Orange Tabby, so you need to have 8 of these black cats ready for whenever you need to grow a huge fruit.
Lastly, the Spider is also one of the best pets in the game, and I cannot rave about the spider enough.
Yes, the Ghostly Spider is insanely better, but if you get a semi-huge, huge or titanic Spider, it will be a game changer for you. It increases plant growth speed, which is invaluable for events like the Ancient Jack-O-Lantern, where you have to repeatedly turn in fruits over and over, for quick regrowth.
It also quickens the cooldown times of every single pet that is within the web graphic it “weaves”, and it’s genuinely one of my favorite pets to date, and you’re going to need spiders for the new Safari Harvest Event, to grow back your plants quickly so you can keep handing them in over and over.
Stock up on the Spooky Eggs before they disappear on Saturday!
Get Your Witch’s Cauldron Before It Is Too Late
I cannot stress enough how important it is, that you get at least one Witch’s Cauldron cosmetic item before Saturday.
It is a cosmetic item with an ability, just like the Pancake Stacks, which you can no longer get.
You need one Witch’s Cauldron for the Black Cat pets to work efficiently, and if you don’t have one, you will not be able to acquire one after Saturday, as there’s no cosmetic item trading right now.
You can find the cauldron inside the Pumpkin Crate, so buy them whenever you see them in stock inside the Devilish Decor shop within the Halloween Market on-the-hour.

Finish Your Grow A Garden Season Pass
Possibly the most important thing to do before the Grow A Garden Safari Harvest Update, is ensuring you have fully completed all 50 levels of the Season Battle Pass.
We are getting a brand new Season Battle Pass on Saturday, and it’ll replace the existing one, and the rewards.
If you don’t manage to complete the 50 levels, you will not be able to obtain those rewards.
Plus, the Season Pass Store is likely to be replaced by new items we can buy, so if there are any items in the Store, you still haven’t bought, buy them now, just so you don’t miss out.
Do NOT Harvest & Reclaim Your Halloween Gardens (Yet)
This is my biggest recommendation. We all tend to empty and clean out our garden ready for a new event/update, so we’re ready to go, but for once, I don’t think this is a good idea.
With the current Season Pass, harvesting mutated fruits gets you very high points, and the more points you have, the quicker you’ll complete your Season Pass.
With this Halloween update, we’ve all got Vamp, Bloodlit, Spooky, Moonlit, Pestilent, Ghostly and Batty mutated plants for handing in for the Reaper, Witch or Ancient Jack-O-Lantern.
When Grow A Garden drops the new Season Pass, if you harvest all of your Halloween mutated plants, you’ll clear endless levels within the Season Pass instantly.
If you clear out your garden *before* the update, all of those mutations will go to waste, so do not harvest them until the new Season Pass goes live.
Prepare A New Garden Slot For The Event
I have three garden slots – the one main one we start with, one that we buy with Sheckles via the mailbox outside our garden, and a third slot I bought via the Ascension Shop.
If you haven’t yet got your third slot via the Ascension Shop, work on doing your Ascensions, so you can get that extra slot asap.
Even if you don’t have enough time before Saturday, having that third slot is going to help SO much with all future events, and the Ascensions are so much easier now, so it shouldn’t take too much time to get enough Garden Coins to unlock that third slot.
Hatch Bug Eggs & Mythical Eggs NOW!
This might sound like a strange recommendation, but you want to get yourself a team of either Giant Ants or Red Giant Ants.
I have been sleeping on how epic the ant pets are for harvest events, but they have a decent percentage change to duplicate your harvested fruits, meaning you get tonnes of duplicate fruits from having them equipped when harvesting.
The Giant Ants (from Bug Eggs) are more OP than Red Giant Ants, but either ant will help you massively for an event structure like the Safari Harvest event.
You just put the ants in pet loadout 1 for harvesting, and then put Pixies or Spiders in pet loadout 2 after harvesting, so they make everything grow back quickly – the perfect dream team!
If you do manage to get some ants, and you have a Headless Horseman, try and get them Nightmare before Saturday, so they work every more efficiently, with a heck of a lot of free duplicate fruits and more rewards.

Get Yourself A Nightmare Headless Horseman
This leads into the above, with the Nightmare mutation, but if you have a Headless Horseman pet, and it isn’t yet Nightmare, try and get it Nightmare, if you own one other Headless Horseman.
When your Headless Horseman has the Nightmare mutation itself, it performs its ability even better. It will reduce the time it takes to perform the mutations, and increase the chance percentage of Nightmare being the mutation it chooses from the four: Spectral, Dreadbound, Soulflame and Nightmare.
If you have a Nightmare Headless Horseman, it will be amazing for mutating all of the new pets we’re going to get from the Safari Harvest Event.
Grind The Ancient Jack-O-Lantern For Toffee Tethers
When you do the Ancient Jack-O-Lantern event, which is every two hours, you get four types of rewards; Candy Corn Currency, Halloween Gear Boxes, Pumpkin Crates and Spooky Eggs.
Inside the Halloween Gear Box, the top tier reward is the Toffee Tether, and the only way you’ll be able to get these, is via the Halloween Gear Box.
The Toffee Tether is a mutation you apply to a pet, like you do a Mutation Shard, and it means the pet will obsessively follow you around your garden, which is so helpful with pets you want to be in a specific area, like XP levelling pets, or plant growing pets.
I have used my tethers, so far, on my Echo Frogs, Pixies and Kappa, and you never know which future pets will be perfect for the Toffee Tether, so get as many Halloween Gear Boxes as you can, so you can get some Toffee Tethers saved for future pet releases.

Use Up Your Dig Trinkets Before It Is Too Late
Following on from the Gear Boxes in the above mention, use up your Dig Trinkets with the Grave Digger quest before Saturday.
You will not be able to use them after Saturday, so don’t waste them, and get as many rewards as you can.
Use Up Your Candy Corn Currency Before It Disappears
If you’ve been doing the Jack-O-Lantern quest, Dead Tree quest or the Witch’s quest, you’ve probably amassed an insane amount of Candy Corn Currency.
Make sure you spend as much as you can within the Halloween Market before Saturday, buying everything you see in stock, so you don’t waste that currency you’ve worked so hard to get.
Get Some Barn Owls!
With the Summer Harvest Event in the summer, we got a Summer Harvest Shop in the second part of the event, where you could buy shop pets like the Hamster.
If you have Barn Owls equipped in your garden, when buying shop pets, it will boost the weight/size of your bought-pet.
So, if you haven’t yet got yourself an army of Barn Owls, get them if you can, so you are ready for a shop to inevitably appear in either week 1 or week 2 of this event, to get the biggest size pets you possibly can.
Craft Pack Bees If You Haven’t Completed Your Core Plants Achievement
Lastly, if you haven’t yet completed your Core Plants achievement, I would recommend crafting a Pack Bee via the crafting bench.
If you complete the Core Plants achievement, you unlock 100 extra inventory slots, but many players haven’t yet done that, so they’re limited to just the standard 200 inventory slots.
With harvesting events, you want as many fruits in your backpack as possible, to reduce how many times you have to run back and forth to hand them in.
The Pack Bees give you extra inventory slots when equipped, which is so helpful with harvesting events, like the Summer Harvest, and I imagine, the new Safari Harvest event.
