The Grow A Garden Zen Event is officially here, and with it, we have a whole new event we need to grind for. The Zen Event has replaced the Prehistoric Event, so we no longer have a daily quest to do.
We do have a new event to do, which is a lot more chilled and laid-back, which is very fitting for a “zen” themed event.
I’m going to share lots of tips on how the event works, how to get the most Chi points, and tell you everything you need to know with this new update.

What Is The Grow A Garden Zen Event?
On the event display in the center of the field, there’s a Zen themed display, with two NPC characters.
There’s the Zen Channeller (which was originally called Unc the Monk – which I guess was changed to be a little more PC), and a Tanuki wearing a bamboo Kasa hat.
Both of these two characters give you different things to do, and both offer rewards.
Starting off, we have the Zen Channeller in the center, with a circular plot behind him. He gives you the option to grow a tree on the plot behind him, and you do this, by giving him your Tranquil fruit.
Every hour, on the hour, the Tranquil Event occurs, and lasts for 10 minutes. During those 10 minutes, blue orbs float towards your crops in your garden, and you will get 20 Tranquil fruits.
When the blue orb touches your fruit, it mutates it into the “Tranquil” mutation, and the Zen Channeller needs you to give him your Tranquil fruits, and each fruit within the game, has a different number of Zen Points (just like the Harvest event).

Who Is The Zen Channeller?
The Zen Channeller needs you to help him grow the white tree on the plot behind him.
Every Tranquil fruit you hand him, you’ll get a number of Zen points, and the rarer the fruit, the more points you’ll get.
There are seven steps within the Zen Channeller’s quest, and when you complete each level, part of the tree will grow behind him, with step 7 being the last and final level.
Each time you complete one of the 7 levels, the Zen Channeller will reward you by giving you a bunch of rewards, and the tree will grow behind him, until you reach level 7, and the tree will not grow any further.

Which Fruits Give The Most Points In The Grow A Garden Zen Event Update?
Every fruit within Grow A Garden has a “points” value, where the rarity rating dictates how many points a fruit will give you.
The Zen Event will give you 20 Tranquil fruits per event, and it’ll choose which fruits the Tranquil orbs will mutate, at random.
So, you want to ensure you only have high-value fruits in your garden for this update, as you don’t want to end up with 20 Tranquil tomatoes, as that’s going to give you a tiny amount of Chi Points, which is where the new save slots feature comes in.
I’ve used my new save slot garden for this quest alone, and I have planted only sugar apple trees, and it is working insanely well.
Here are the points for each fruit within the game:
- Carrots and Strawberries – 1 point
- Blueberry, Monoblooma and Orange Tulip – 2 points
- Tomato, Corn, Raspberries, Daffodils, Pears, Zenflares and Serenity – 3 points
- Apples, Watermelons, Bamboo, Pumpkins, Taro Flowers and Soft Sunshine – 4 points
- Coconuts, Cactus, Mangos, Peaches, Bananas, Dragon Fruits, Pineapples, Bananas, Spiked Mangos, Zen Rocks and Hinomai – 5 points
- Grapes, Peppers, Cacaos and Mushrooms – 6 points
- Beanstalks, Sugar Apples, Burning Buds, Ember Lillies and Giant Pinecones – 7 points
- Bone Blossoms – 8 points
As you can see, the points differ a lot, and if your garden is fully of tomatoes, strawberries and bamboo, you’re not going to make a lot of Zen Points or Chi Points, so you will miss out on the rewards.

What Is The Zen Shop?
There’s also an adorable Tanuki NPC, sitting on a platform in front of the gong, next to a sign that reads Trade Chi.
The Tanuki allows you to access the Zen Shop, but you can also hand him your Tranquil fruits, to get Chi Points, and this will give you currency to spend within his Zen Shop.
Within the shop, there are a number of items, but some are locked behind levels, and you can only access them when you’ve grown the tree to a certain level.
Inside the Zen Shop, also called Tranquil Treasures, there are the following items:
- Zen Seed Pack
- Zen Egg
- Hot Spring Cosmetic Item
- Zen Sand Cosmetic Item
- Tranquil Reader Gear Item
- Zenflare Seed
- Zen Crate
- Soft Sunshine Seed
- Koi Fish Pet
- Zen Gnome Crate
- Spiked Mango Seed
- Pet Shard Tranquil
Each of these items have different rarity ratings, going from Rare for the Zen Seed Pack, to Divine for the Pet Shared Tranquil.
These items can all be purchased with Chi Points, providing the items are in stock, and there is actually a feature where you can restock the shop for sheckles, but it gets super expensive, super quickly.
If you restock the shop, you reset the restock timer. For example, the shop restocks on the hour, every hour, but if you pay sheckles to restock at 15 minutes past the hour, the shop will now restock at 15 minutes past the hour.
The shop stock refreshes every 60 minutes, and the restock price gets reset back to the standard price of 500,000 sheckles once every 24 hours, so if you’ve spent billions or trillions trying to restock the shop, you’ll have to wait for the shop to refresh and go back down to the 500,000 sheckles price again.
Trade Chi Vs Zen Channeller Quest – Which Should You Give Your Tranquil Fruits To?
Once you’ve completed the tree growing quest, you can repeat level 7 of the quest over and over.
I’ve not seen anyone talk about this yet, but once the tree is fully grown, you can still give the Zen Channeller Tranquil fruits, to take your Zen Points from 0 to 325, and once you do, you get a whole list of rewards, and you can genuinely do this over and over to get rewards.
Through grinding, I’ve got my Chi Points currency upto 1000 points, but the stock is so rare within the Zen Shop, that it feels pointless giving the Tanuki any more Tranquil fruits, because I’ve already got a lot of points built up.
This is where the Zen Channeller comes in, as you can give him your fruits instead of the Tanuki, and you’ll earn benefits that way, and you can repeat it every hour, after the event finishes, and sometimes, the Zen Channeller will actually reward you with Chi Points, to add to your currency balance anyway, so it’s a win-win situation.
I’ve recorded a load of the rewards I’ve got by doing level 7 over and over, so you can get an idea of what you’ll get, if you keep giving your Tranquil fruits to the Zen Channeller, instead of the Tanuki, providing, you’ve already built up enough Chi Points already.

Top Tips For Getting MAX Chi Points In The Grow A Garden Zen Event
You will only get 20 Tranquil fruits per event, so you need enough plants or trees of high point fruits/flowers for 20 fruits to be mutated.
Less is definitely more. Do not fill your garden with more than 10 plants/trees, as it’ll make harvesting the Tranquil fruits a longer and tougher process.
I’ve found the best tactic to be 10 trees in total, and in my main account’s garden, I have just 10 Sugar Apple trees – nothing else, just those, and all 20 of my Tranquil fruits are guaranteed to be Sugar Apples, which are 7 points each, so I’m guaranteed to make 140 Zen Points or Chi Points for every event, for my account.
The more plants/trees you have, the harder it’ll be to track down the Tranquil fruits, so go for no more than 10 multi-fruit harvest plants/trees.

Beanstalks are also really good, as they have a lot of bean sprouts, but the best, in my opinion, is sugar apples, and make sure you plant them in a compact area, so you can use the Tranquil Reader with one click, and it’ll harvest every single Tranquil fruit in one single click.
The Tranquil Reader is 18 Chi Points, and you get one click/use per reader, so by putting the plants/trees all in the same, compact area, you can use one Tranquil Reader to harvest every single one of the 20 Tranquil fruits in one click.
Do not spread your plants/trees about, keep them compact and close to each other, and the orbs will still find your fruits.
My next tip is using an alt account. One Zen Egg is 30 Chi Points, and you get 7 points for one Sugar Apple, and whilst the Zen Eggs are rarely in stock, you need to accumulate as many Chi Points as possible, so you have enough currency to purchase anything in the shop.
By using an alt account, you can get another 20 Tranquil mutated fruits, and you can just pass them over to your main account, once the 10-minute event is over, and you’ll get double the points, to help you do the level 7 quest again, or boost your Chi Points balance.
