If you love dinosaurs, you’re going to love the new Grow A Garden Prehistoric update, as it gave us six brand new dinosaur pets to hatch out of the brand new Dinosaur Eggs.
The dinosaurs all have really impressive abilities, and the designs are amazing too. The Triceratops is just one of those new dinosaurs, and I’m going to give you the full low-down on this brand new prehistoric pet…

What Is The Grow A Garden Triceratops Pet?
The Triceratops pet is one of six new prehistoric pets inside the new Dinosaur Egg.
You can get your hands on Dinosaur Eggs in two ways:
- Do the Prehistoric Daily Quest every 12 hours, and earn one Dinosaur Egg, by talking to Blaire.
- Donate one unwanted pet to Graham, wait 60 minutes, and the DNA Machine will either give you a fully grown dinosaur, or one, two or three Dinosaur Eggs for you to hatch yourself
Dinosaur Egg each take 4 hours to hatch, with a beige design, and a white dinosaur skull on the front. Plus, there’s brown straw at the base of the egg.
You can use some pets to help you quicken the hatching time, like the Rooster, Blood Kiwi, Kiwi and Bald Eagle, if you don’t want to wait the full four hours for it to hatch – which is what I’m doing right now, as I don’t want to wait 4 hours.
When it comes to rarity, the six dinosaurs have a percentage chance of:
- Raptor – 35% chance
- Triceratops – 32.5% chance
- Stegosaurus – 28% chance
- Pterodactyl – 3% chance
- Brontosaurus – 1% chance
- T. Rex – 0.5% chance

What Are The Benefits Of The Grow A Garden Triceratops Pet?
Every 3.33 minutes, rams into 3 random plants and advances their growth by 33.33 minutes. Plus, it has a 15.75% chance to do it again each time.
When you’re in your garden, you literally see the triceratops pet running upto your crop and ramming it with its horns, and it does it to three plants, one after another, and the crops don’t even need to be next to each other – they could be opposite sides of the farm.

If the triceratops rams a fully grown plant, nothing will happen, but you’ll still get the notification for each of the three rams the triceratops does.
If it doesn’t ram a fully grown plant, the plant will almost always become fully grown in an instant, unless it is something like the new Traveler’s Fruit Seed or Guanabana Seed, as they are both super slow growing, but it’ll still boost the growth by 33 minutes.
Considering the triceratops is the second most common dinosaur pet (after the Raptor), I think the ability is pretty decent, especially as it’s 3 plants it grows quickly, and not just one.
Although, the notifications are a little annoying as you get the beep each time it rams something, and that happens every 3 minutes, so it feels like you’re constantly getting the ding noises while playing, but you can turn the audio off via the settings, if this is something that bothers you.
