The capybara is just one of the thirteen new pets that launched in the Grow A Garden summer update.
The capybara pet is one of the cutest pets Grow A Garden has ever launched – it really is adorable.
I’m going to let you know how you can get your own capybara pet, what it actually does, and whether it’s worth equipping one in your garden.

What Is The Grow A Garden Capybara Pet?
The capybara is one of five pets you can potentially hatch from the new summer paradise egg.
Each summer paradise egg is 50 million sheckles, making it as expensive as the bug eggs, but the percentage chance of a paradise egg appearing in the Pet Egg Shop restocks is higher, with a 7% chance, whereas the bug eggs have just a 3% chance.
Inside the paradise egg, the five pets are:
- Ostrich – 40% chance
- Peacock – 30% chance
- Capybara – 21% chance
- Scarlet Macaw – 8% chance
- Mimic Octopus – 1% chance
The ostrich is the most common pet, whilst the mimic octopus is the rarest pet with just a 1% chance.
I love the design of the capybara pet, it looks so cute. It has a chunky, big size, even if you hatch one of the smaller under 1kg versions, but if you get a 2kg version, it’s pretty huge (just like the orangutans – they all look massive regardless of the weight).
It wiggles its tail constantly, and moves its ears, and it moves quite slowly around your garden.

What Does The Grow A Garden Capybara Pet Do?
The capybara pet is getting a little hate within the Grow A Garden community, due to how “mid” the benefit is, considering this pet comes from the most expensive, rarest egg from the summer update.
With the capybara, all pets within 15.63 studs won’t lose hunger and will gain 3.63 XP per second.
There’s not very much information about the “all pets within 15.63 studs won’t lose hunger” – is that constantly? How long will they not lose hunger? It’s not black and white like the moth, which sings to one singular pet and refills their hunger bar, and it is just so vague.

The XP gain of 3.63 per second is amazing, considering the Blood Owl is known for the best XP boosting, with 0.65 XP per second.
Obviously, the blood owl works on every pet in your garden, and the capybara only works on pets within 15.63 studs, but it’s not that bad.
It’s a good passive pet to have, but the other four pets in the paradise egg are all better than the capybara, but that’s just my personal opinion.
