We got thirteen new pets in the Grow A Garden summer update, in three different limited edition summer-themed eggs.
The Mimic Octopus is the rarest pet from the three different summer eggs, and it’s the coolest pet. If you’d like to find out all about the Mimic Octopus, what it actually does, and if it’s actually worth it, keep on reading…

What Is The Grow A Garden Mimic Octopus Pet?
The Mimic Ocotpus is one of five pets you can find inside the new Summer Paradise Egg, which is the most expensive egg Grow A Garden offers, at a price of 50,000,000 (fifty million sheckles), which is the same price as the Bug Eggs.
Inside the Summer Paradise Egg, you can find the following five pets:
- Ostrich – 40%
- Peacock – 30%
- Capybara – 21%
- Scarlet Macaw – 8%
- Mimic Octopus – 1%
With a percentage of just 1%, it’s the rarest pet to find, and has the coolest benefit and design.
It has a blue purple color design, with yellow eyes and a smiley face. It has six tentacles, and has a big bulbous head.
I love how it moves across the floor, it slides on the floor, with its tentacles moving about.

Benefits Of The Grow A Garden Mimic Octopus Pet
With the mimic octopus being the rarest of the thirteen pets, it had to have an impressive benefit.
The mimic octopus, every 19:26 minutes, mimics and copies an ability from another pet and performs its ability.
It’s so cool, because it copies one of your other pets, and does their benefit – for example, if you have raccoon pets, the octopus can slide across the field to another player’s garden, and steal (or duplicate) one of their crops and gives it to you.

It’s been so much fun trying different pets to see the octopus doing the different benefits.
My favorite way to use the mimic octopus, is with the new scarlet macaw, as it maximizes the chances of getting the exclusive “verdant” mutation.
I also love using the mimic octopus with the dragonfly, for turning crops gold too. I know some people haven’t been loving the pets in the summer eggs, but I think the mimic octopus is one of my favorite pets I own.
