When it comes to Grow A Garden pets, if you prefer your pets to help you financially, the giant ants are a great option. We have two different giant ants now, and both are very good pets.
Today, I’m going to share all the information about the giant ant, the benefits, where you can hatch one, and let you know why I think it’s a good idea to have at least one giant ant pet in your garden.

How To Get A Giant Ant Pet In Grow A Garden
The Giant Ant pet is obtainable via the Bug Egg, which is the rarest egg within Grow A Garden, and if you ever see it in stock, snap one up, if you have the sheckles, as all of the pets inside that egg are amazing.
Each Bug Egg is crazy expensive at 50,000,000 (fifty million sheckles) each, and is only available in 3% of the egg shop restocks, so it’s ultra rare and expensive.
Inside the bug egg, there are five pets you can get:
- Snail (brown) 40%
- Giant Ant (grey) 30%
- Caterpillar (green) 25%
- Praying Mantis (green) 4%
- Dragonfly (beige and brown) 1%
All five pets are genuinely really great pets, so you’re going to win regardless, but the best pet in the entire Grow A Garden game is the dragonfly, and that is the rarest pet in the game, and the rarest pet inside the bug eggs.
The Giant Ant is a chunky, grey colored ant – although it kinda looks lilac in some lights.

Benefits Of Owning The Grow A Garden Giant Ant Pet
Seeing as the pets in the bug egg are all so rare, the benefits need to be decent to warrant the price – luckily, they are.
If you have the giant ant in your garden, it gives you a 5% chance that crops you’re harvesting will duplicate.
You get a pop-up message that says something like “lucky dupe, you got an extra mango”, and the fruit you just picked will be duplicated within your inventory.
It’s not the seed that duplicates, but the actual fruit. So it could be a mutated massive fruit, or could be a plain, tiny strawberry with no mutations whatsoever.

It’s all luck, but I’ve had really great luck on getting duplicated, huge, mutated fruits, and whilst it is only a 5% chance, I feel like it happens very often for such a low percentage.
Whenever I have some really big fruits, I like to equip the giant ant and the silver monkey, as the giant ant can duplicate the crop in your inventory, and the silver monkey can allow you to sell crops twice (sometimes), so you can stack the two benefits for a win-win situation.
