There are a crazy amount of pets to collect within Grow A Garden, and it can be hard to keep up with which pets are actually overpowered, and which you should get rid of, to make room for the better pets.
Since the Prehistoric Dino update, we’ve had to give our unwanted pets to Graham, the NPC on the Dinosaur Event Display, to change the unwanted pet into a Dinosaur Egg after 60 minutes, or to change into a fully grown dinosaur.
We are all earning a lot of eggs right now, plus the Pet Egg Shop resets every 30 minutes, so you probably have a lot of eggs left to open. There are four pets which can help you when trying to hatch eggs faster, keep on reading to find out more…

When you first start playing Grow A Garden, you can have 3 eggs placed in your garden at one time.
You then get the option to unlock new egg slots through two means; Robux, or trading in your unwanted pets.
You have to give Raphael an aged pet to unlock an extra egg slot, and the the pet ages increase, the more egg slots you unlock.
Here are the egg unlock ages:
- Trade in an age 20 pet for a total of 4 eggs hatching at one time
- Trade in an age 30 pet for a total of 5 eggs hatching at one time
- Trade in an age 45 pet for a total of 6 eggs hatching at one time
- Trade in an age 60 pet for a total of 7 eggs hatching at one time
- Trade in an age 75 pet for a total of 8 eggs hatching at one time
There is the option to use Robux, but it gets super expensive the more egg slots you wish to unlock. For just one extra egg slot, it’s 249 Robux!
If you do unlock the extra egg slots, or stick with the 3 egg slots you’re given when you start, there are four pets which can quicken the hatching time.
Each egg type has a different egg hatching time. The quickest to hatch is the Common Egg, which takes just 10 minutes to hatch, while the Bug Egg takes a crazy long 8 hours to hatch – I have no idea why it’s that long to hatch, but it’s the longest hatch time by around 2 hours.
Here are the hatch times for the different types of eggs:
- Common Egg – 10 minutes
- Uncommon Egg – 20 minutes
- Rare Egg – 2 hours
- Legendary Egg – 4 hours
- Mythical Egg – 5 Hours and 7 minutes
- Bee Egg – 4 Hours and 10 minutes
- Bug Egg – 8 hours
- Anti-Bee Egg – 4 hours and 10 minutes
- Paradise Egg – 6 hours and 40 minutes
- Common Summer Egg – 20 minutes
- Rare Summer Egg – 4 hours
- Oasis Egg – 4 hours and 10 minutes
- Dinosaur Egg – 4 hours and 10 minutes
These four pets will help you quicken the hatching time. If you don’t own any of these pets, and some aren’t currently available, make sure you wait for the trading update (coming within the next two weeks), as we’ll be able to trade without risk of being scammed.

Grow A Garden Rooster Pet
“Increases egg hatch speed by 23.48%.”
I feel like nobody ever talks about the rooster pet, but it really is OP when it comes to trying to hatch eggs quickly.
What makes the rooster so effective, is that it quickens the hatch speed of every egg in your garden, and not just individual eggs, so you could be quickening eight eggs at once.
It has a super basic design, as it was one of the first pets to launch in the game, and it looks funny running around the farm.
You could hatch the Rooster from the Rare Egg with a chance percentage of 16.67%, which is currently discontinued for summer, but it should be back after summer.

Grow A Garden Bald Eagle Pet
“Every 7.04 minutes, takes flight and spreads its wings. All eggs advanced their hatch time by 70.40 seconds. There’s a 70.40% chance for the time advance to be multiplied by 2.59x.”
The Bald Eagle Pet is one of the newest pets in the game, and was only available for 24 hours as part of the July 4th update.
We could only purchase one Bald Eagle pet per account, and I wish we could have bought more, as it’s a serious game changer for hatching eggs.
Every 7 minutes, it quickens every single egg in your garden by 70.40 seconds, and red, white and blue fireworks fire out of the tops of the eggs, when this happens.
However, there’s an insanely high percentage of 70.40% that the 70.40 seconds will be multiplied by 2.59x, so you’re getting a massive chunk of hatching time shaved off every 7 minutes, and so, so often you get the double multiplier, which takes even more time off.
Plus, the Bald Eagle is so easy to feed – the hunger bar fills up with very little, so you don’t have to waste your valuable fruits trying to keep the hunger bar filled up.

Grow A Garden Blood Kiwi Pet
“Every 56.29 seconds, goes to the egg with the highest hatch time, and reduces its hatch time by 46.67 seconds. Increases egg hatch speed by 20.47%.”
If you ever get the chance to trade for a blood kiwi – do it, it’s the best pet for quickening egg hatch times.
It was available in the Blood Moon Shop, which ran for several weeks, as a limited time event, and they were frequently in stock too (unlike the blood hedgehog).
The blood kiwis work best when you have multiple, and every 1 minute, they waddle up to your highest hatch time egg, and quicken it by 47 seconds, but also quickens every single egg hatch speed by 20.47% too, and they stack, so the more blood kiwis you have, the more time you’ll be shaving off, and it makes it so, so much quicker to hatch eggs – even Bug Eggs.

Grow A Garden Chicken Pet
“Increases egg hatch speed by 12.09%.”
The chicken is no way near as overpowered as the rooster, bald eagle or blood kiwi, but it is still another pet that’ll help speed up the time it takes for your eggs to hatch.
It gives you a hatch speed increase of 12.09%, and the chicken was available in the Uncommon Egg, with a chance percentage of 25%.
The uncommon egg is currently not available, due to the summer event, but it should be back once summer is over, but hopefully they’ll introduce some better performing egg hatch time improving pets until then.
