For the third and final week of the Grow A Garden Halloween Update, we got even more new pets, including two brand new Divine pets; the Lich and the Mummy.
The Mummy pet is the 1% pet within the new Spooky Chests, but the Lich pet isn’t a pet you can hatch from an egg, buy from a shop or get out of a chest. It has a super cool and unique method to obtain it, and you’re going to need multiple items to “summon” your own Lich pet. Keep on reading to find out more…

A lich is a powerful undead spellcaster who defies death to achieve immortality through dark magic, and Grow A Garden has created a “spell” for us, to create our own Lich, and if you don’t have the specific items needed, you won’t be able to get your own Lich.
It is only going to be obtainable whilst the Halloween update is live, so make sure you get all of these items ASAP, so you don’t miss out on the opportunity to get your own Lich.

How To Get The Grow A Garden Lich Pet
To get the new Grow A Garden Lich pet, you will need the following items:
- 1 x Crow Pet (which you can get as a reward from doing the grave digger quest)
- 1 x Bat Pet (which you can hatch out of the Spooky Egg)
- 1 x Scarab Pet (which you can get out of the Spooky Chest)
- 1 x Lich Crystal (which you purchase from the Ghosty Gadgets Shop within the Halloween Market)
- 1 x Spell Book (which you purchase from the Devilish Decor Shop within the Halloween Market)
- 2 x Halloween Candles (which you’ll find inside the Spooky Crate with a 15% chance)

To do the Grow A Garden Lich ritual, you have to place the three pets in your garden; one Bat pet, one Crow pet and one Scarab pet.
Once those three pets are placed in your garden, you need to place one Spell Book cosmetic item, alongside two of the Halloween Candles, anywhere within your garden.

With the three cosmetic items placed within your garden, and the three pets, you’re now ready to do the Lich Crystal Ritual.
You do lose all three pets for this ritual, so make sure you don’t use aged or huge sizes of these pets, as they’ll be removed from your garden post-ritual.

You need to find your Lich Crystal in your inventory, and equip it, so you’re holding it. Click the screen anywhere, and you’ll get a pop-up message asking you the following:
Are you sure you want to use the Lich Crystal? Bat, Crow, Scarab —> Lich. Using the Lich Crystal will fuse these pets into a Lich.
To go ahead, you simply press confirm, and the ritual animation will appear on the screen.
It really is cool, and so unlike anything we’ve had in the game previously. The animation takes around 5 seconds, and the Lich pet will be added to your inventory – so make sure you favorite your Lich straight away, so you don’t accidentally sell it.
The size of the three pets you have to sacrifice (crow, scarab and bat) does not affect the size of the Lich you’ll get. So, you don’t want to use huge or titanic sizes of these pets, like the bat, as it’ll be a waste.

Each time you do the Lich Ritual, you lose one use of your Lich Crystal, and lose the three pets (crow, scarab and bat), but you don’t lose the Spell Book and Candles.
The ritual to get your own Lich is cool, but what does it actually do?
Spooky type plants within 32.33 studs have increased 0.67x variant chance, 1.53x growth speed and 0.49x size bonus.
All active Halloween type pets gain an additional 1.47 XP/s.
For a Divine pet, the ability is kinda mid, as it only affects Halloween plants and Halloween pets, but we’ve definitely had less impressive Divine pets – like the Cockatrice and Griffin, for example.
The ability for plants is handy for doing the Ancient Jack-O-Lantern quest every two hours, as you get more rewards for gold/rainbow fruit variants, and the increased growth speed will allow you to run back and forth to your garden, filling up your inventory with more fruits, so you can get more rewards in the limited 10-minute period the Jack-O-Lantern is there.
