The Grow A Garden Safari Harvest update launched on Saturday, alongside some new quality of life updates. For the new Safari Harvest event, we have to hand in specific types of crops to Safari Joyce (NPC), and for every 500 points we get, we either get a reward, or we contribute to the Global Safari Points tally.
There’s an issue with Grow A Garden, where players can get trade locked, which means they’re completely unable to trade or gift pets to another player, and that means even your alt accounts.
Since Saturday, there’s a new trade ban bug happening, and it happened to me, and thankfully I found out how to fix it. So, I wanted to share a guide for those in the same situation…

Yesterday, when trying to move pets to my alt account that I use to store extra pets, I tried to trade over my eight phoenix pets, as I’m not using the Mutation Machine anymore, now we have the Headless Horseman to give the Nightmare mutation.
I used a Trading Ticket, and attempted to send the trade request to my alt, and I got a white text message on the screen which read:
“You can’t trade! Please report this to devs! userID:00000000000“
This is the message you get when you’ve been trade banned, and it is usually what happens if the devs suspect you for trading duped pets.
I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong. I only do trades via Discord, but I was completely blocked from doing any trades or gifting in public servers or my private server.
I was convinced by Roblox account was screwed, and I wouldn’t be able to play Grow A Garden anymore, without being able to trade or gift anything.

Next, I tried to gift my main account from the alt account, and I got the exact same “You can’t trade! Please report this to devs! userID:00000000000″ message – so both accounts were seemingly trade banned.
I’m glad I tried to trade from my alt account, because I don’t ever trade with that account, so I knew the issue couldn’t possibly be because of a duped pet I’d got from a trade.
I did some investigating, checking the Grow A Garden Discord, to see if anyone had similar issues, and sure enough, many players had. What is the solution? Keep reading to find out…

This is a photo of one of my four gardens. We got a brand new garden slot as part of the Saturday Safari Harvest update, and I have my gardens set up like this:
- Main money making garden for admin abuse events which I never chance
- Woody or Fruits craving plant garden (coconuts and sugar apples)
- Vegetable or Stalky craving garden (beanstalks, corn, tomato, parsley)
- Berries, Prickly and Flowers craving garden (serenity, pineapple, celestiberries, strawberries, blueberries, glowthorns, crown of thorns)
In the three event gardens, I had maxed the 800 plant limit, and actually, I had exceeded the 800 plant limit, because I had purchased the max Plant Inventory upgrades via the Ascension Shop, meaning I *could* legitimately plant 850 plants in all four gardens (total of 3400 plants if you wanted to).
Well, don’t. This is what is causing a trade ban.

This is just an idea of my coconuts within my “Woody” and “Fruits” garden, and I planted 637 Coconut Seeds, which I had built up from all of the past events, giving bonus harvest seeds over and over, since I started playing in May.
I then have 213 Sugar Apple seeds, again, from the bonus harvest seeds from using the Harvest Tools for the craving events (Beanstalk, Summer Harvest, Fall Market etc), giving me a total of 850 plants.

These 850 plants are all multi-harvest plants, and when I used the Harvest All feature, it gave me 14,515 plants (as shown above).
The Grow A Garden trade ban is happening to any account with “too many” plants in their garden. I imagine, it is to with too much memory being used by so many plants/fruits – especially with something like a coconut, where big trees can give you 20 and even more coconuts in one harvest.
I used my team of squirrels, and reclaimed a third of the plants in my three event gardens, and this fixed the issue completely.
The reason my alt couldn’t trade, was because it was in my private server, and my garden was what was causing the issue.
Now, all three of my event gardens are way, way under the 800 plant normal limit, and I can now trade and gift no problem with my main account, and my alt in my private server.
So, if you too have this worrying “you can’t trade” message, please try using a reclaimer to pick up as many plants as you can, and see how it will fix the error for you.
