The Garden Horizons Mythical update launched today, as the second ever proper update for the game. Last week, we had the console update, but there wasn’t actually any new content to the game, but the devs did promise that we’d get a big update this week, and we really did.

With the new Garden Horizons Mythical Update, there’s a brand new NPC (Rosalind) on the event platform, and she’s joined by several other NPCs surrounding a helicopter platform, and a hovering helicopter (the one we’ve seen circling the island for weeks).
For this event, the game randomly runs “Strange” weather events, where the screen turns black, and neon green lights appear from the sky, where they randomly mutate your fruits with the Strange mutation.

Rosalind needs you to hand in your Strange mutated crops, and in return, you get a number of points. With the more points you get, you received rewards.
Here a list of the rewards you’ll get for the different point totals:
- 5 points – 3 x Strawberry seeds
- 10 points – 3 x Beetroot seeds
- 20 points – 3 x Tomato seeds
- 30 points – 2 x Basic Sprinklers
- 50 points – 1 x IGMA Seed Pack
- 75 points – 2 x Apple seeds
- 100 points – 2 x Rose seeds
- 125 points – 2 x Turbo Sprinklers
- 150 points – 3 x IGMA Seed Packs
- 175 points – 3 x Wheat seeds
- 200 points – 2 x Banana seeds
- 230 points – 1 x Royal Seed Pack
- 260 points – 4 x Harvest Bells
- 300 points – 2 x Plum seeds
- 330 points – 3 x Royal Seed Packs
- 360 points – 1 x Super Sprinkler
- 400 points – 2 x Potato seeds
- 430 points – 1 x Trowel
- 470 points – 5 x IGMA Seed Packs
- 500 points – 1 x Lily Stalk seed

When a fruit has the Strange mutation, neon green animations surround the fruit, so they are quite easy to spot thankfully.
The amount of points you get per fruit depends on the rarity of the fruit. The rarer the fruit, the more points you’ll get.

The Strange mutation is just a 2 x multiplier, but they’re designed to be handed in rather than be kept for increasing the value of your fruits.
During each Strange weather event, you only get a small handful of fruits mutated with Strange. The more plants you have planted in your garden, the harder it’ll be to find all of your Strange mutated fruits, as we don’t have a radar like we do in Grow A Garden.
The best tip with this event, is having plants that grow back quickly, so when you harvest the fruits, they’ll grow back quickly so you’ll be ready for the next Strange event. The events are random, but I think we get a couple of them an hour, so you want to get the most out of the events.
With testing different fruits and the points values, I’ve found Potatoes to be the best for this event, as they grow so quickly, and you get a decent amount of Potatoes per plant.

Now we have the reclaimer (or the Reverter as Garden Horizons called it), I reclaimed the other more valuable plants in my garden, like Olives, Dawn Blossoms, Cherries and Mangos, and planted every potato seed I had.
I spaced the potato plants out as much as I could, but kept them all in the same kind of area, so I can see the Strange mutated fruits easily, and the less plants you have, the greater chance you have of controlling where the Strange mutation goes.
You can hand in Strange mutated fruits at any time, and not just during the Strange weather events, and once you hit a points threshold, you’ll automatically receive the rewards.
If you AFK’d overnight, with a ton of potatoes planted, by the morning you’d probably be able to finish the entire event and claim the Stalk Lily seed, as well as all of the other seeds and gear rewards.
