With the brand new Oasis Egg, we got five brand new pets within Grow A Garden. As well as the five new summer-themed pets within the Oasis Egg, the game also introduced the brand new Summer Shop, which included a Hamster pet, which you can purchase fully grown, without having to hatch it.
The Sand Snake is just one of the five newest pets, and keep on reading to find out what it does, and if it’s worth having in your garden.
What Is The Grow A Garden Sand Snake Pet?
The Oasis Egg is the newest egg to launch in Grow A Garden, and can only be found within the Summer Shop, which can be accessed by talking to Georgia.
Within the Summer Shop, there are a number of items including gear items, seeds, a crate, an egg and the Hamster Pet, but you have to purchase these items with Summer Coins, which you earn by completing the harvest events.
In addition to buying the Oasis Egg in the Summer Shop, you can also purchase the eggs with Robux, via the green “shop” button on the left side of the screen.
It is rare to find the Oasis Eggs in stock, so if you ever see them available within the Summer Shop, and you have 10 Summer Coins, make sure you buy one, as they’re only in stock 1-2 times per day.
These are the five pets you can hatch from an Oasis Egg:
- Meerkat – 45% chance
- Sand Snake – 34.5% chance
- Axolotl – 15% chance
- Hyacinth Macaw – 5% chance
- Fennec Fox – 0.5% chance
The Sand Snake is the second most common pet in the Oasis Eggs, with a 34.5% chance, and you will end up hatching a lot of meerkats and sand snakes, as they are the two most common pets, by a long way.
For the Sand Snake design, it’s a sand color all over, with a lighter sand color on its chin area.
It has the creepiest red tongue which moves in and out of its mouth, with two white fangs, on either side of its mouth.
I really don’t like the snake pet, but that’s because I don’t like snakes, but the tongue weirds me out. It glitches and moves into the neck, and slides across the floor, within the garden.
What Does The Sand Snake Pet Do In Grow A Garden?
The Sand Snake has a unique ability. When you purchase items from either the Seed Shop or the Gear Shop, there’s a 1.31% chance to duplicate the bought item.
So, when you purchase any seeds or gears, you *could* get a duplicate item for the items you buy, but a 1.31% chance is such a small chance, I’m not sure if it’s worth it.
It would be so cool to be able to duplicate items like Sugar Apple Seeds or Master Sprinklers, but a 1.31% chance is so small, you’d be better off with the Silver Monkey or Monkey pets, as they allow you to (often) resell your items, as it refunds your items back to you, and that would make you more money than a 1.31% chance of getting a duplicate item.
If you have 8 snakes, you will be able to stack the benefit, and the bigger the snake and older the snake, the higher the percentage chance, but it’s so minimal to start with, that it could really do with a buff, especially as the Oasis Egg is so rare to find anyway, and I think the Meerkat pet is actually better than the Sand Snake.
