If you attended the Grow A Garden Crafting Update (or Working Bees Update – the same update had two different names), you’ll have been gifted a free cooked owl pet.
The cooked owl pet was a super limited time freebie, and TWO were automatically added to your inventory by Jandel, when the Crafting Update went live. So, what is the cooked owl pet and what benefits does it have? Keep on reading to find out…

What Is The Grow A Garden Cooked Owl Pet?
For the Lunar Glow event, there were two owls on the event display in the center of the field, plus, whenever the twilight shop or blood moon shop appeared from the floor, a little owl would be sitting on top of the shop.
The owl was the mascot for the Lunar Glow event, and the shops, and when it the Bizzier Bees update launched on the 31st of May, Jandel told everyone to check the shop one final time before the bees event launched, so we could buy whatever we needed before the shop was gone for good.
When the shop appeared, there was one single item in stock and that was it. Jandel said he was going to barbecue the owl for giving us such poor stock for the last restock, and shared a video on his TikTok account of the “cooked owl” on the event display platform ahead of the Bizzier Bee update launch the following Saturday.
He told his followers he would be giving everyone that was at the Bizzier Bee update launch a cooked owl, and he did, if you attended the Bizzier Bees update, you got a cooked owl on a barbecue, as a cosmetic item you could place in your farm.
Many players assumed that the cooked owl was going to be a pet, but it was just a cosmetic item, but as so many players wanted an actual cooked owl pet, Jandel created one, and gifted it to everyone that was live in the game when the Crafting Update went live.
If you didn’t attend the update, you, unfortunately, will not be able to get your own cooked owl pet. It wasn’t an egg hatching pet – we just got gifted a full sized cooked owl pet in our inventories, for attending the event launch.
The cooked owl is the same shape as the normal owl pet (which is now not available in the game, after the Lunar Glow event disappeared), except, instead of white feathers, it’s a brown color with a crisscross pattern, to look like a barbecued owl.
It has little bones for its feet, and black holes for the eyes. It’s weirdly cute, and the fact it is so rare, makes it so cool.

What Is The Benefit Of The Cooked Owl Pet?
If you were lucky enough to get your hands on your own cooked owl pet, by attending the Grow A Garden Crafting update, you now own one of the rarest and most exclusive pets in the game – similarly to the chicken zombie pet we got gifted on the 17th of May.
However, what does the cooked owl pet actually do apart from looking creepy in the cutest way possible?
It also hops along in your garden, but also sometimes flies and hovers too.
Plus, it makes the cutest owl hooting noise as it flies/hops or hovers, and you can see smoke coming off the owl too, which is amazing attention to detail.

If you have the cooked owl equipped in your garden, every 15 minutes, there’s a 15.35% chance that it’ll cook a nearby fruit. Usually, it’ll turn “burnt” but occasionally it’ll turn “cooked”.
Plus, because it’s an owl, and all owls improve other pet’s XPs, the cooked owl will give your other pets a 0.17 XP per second boost, and the description even says “very tasty” too, which is hilarious.
