We got thirteen new pets in the new Grow A Garden summer update, with three brand new eggs.
There’s the paradise egg, the rare summer egg and the common summer egg, and one of these eggs can possibly give you a pet that will transform your fruits into the brand new verdant mutation. Keep on reading to find out more about this new mutation…

The Grow A Garden Summer Paradise Egg is 50 million sheckles, and can be found in 7% of the Pet Egg Shop restocks. It’s a little less rare than the Bug Egg, which is just 3%, but it has the same price tag as the Bug Egg, for 50 million sheckles.
The Paradise Egg has a gorgeous orange gradient design, with a glowing sun on the sides, and sun rays around the top of the egg. Inside the egg, you can find the following pets:
- Ostrich – 40% chance
- Peacock – 30% chance
- Capybara – 21% chance
- Scarlet Macaw – 8% chance
- Mimic Octopus – 1% chance
For the brand new verdant mutation, you’re going to need the scarlet macaw pet, which you have just an 8% chance of getting.
I’ve hatched so many peacocks from these eggs, even though the ostrich is the most common pet, in terms of percentage chances.

To get the brand new verdant mutation, you’re going to need to hatch yourself a scarlet macaw pet. It’s the cutest bright red parrot, with blue and yellow tail feathers, a white heart-shaped face, and a black beak.
Every 11.51 minutes, there’s a 15.90% chance that the scarlet macaw will mutate a nearby fruit, applying the verdant mutation.
I don’t think the 15.90% chance is too bad a percentage, and as the pet gets older, it’ll obviously increase the percentage, and make it even more likely that it’ll mutate your fruit into the verdant mutation.

You get notifications on the screen to let you know if the scarlet macaw failed to apply the verdant mutation, or if it successfully applied the verdant mutation.

The verdant mutation makes the fruits a grassy green color, which is what verdant means, and it does make the fruits stand out, as the color is unlike any other mutations in the game.
Not only does the verdant mutation make the fruits green, but it actually adds a glowing light animation too, which looks so cool.

It adds a lime green glowing square shaped confetti effect that circulates the mutated fruit. It’s impossible to miss, as it stands out so much, but it’s so pretty, and I love the effect it has.
Plus, if you manage to get a fruit mutated to verdant, you’ll get a x4 multiplier, which can be increased to x18, if your verdant mutated fruit then gets the sundried mutation from the new heatwave weather event.
If your fruit gets both the verdant mutation and the sundried mutation, from the heatwave weather event, it will transform into a brand new mutation; paradisal, which has a multiplier of x18. Click here to find out all about the new paradisal mutation.
