Yves Saint Laurent describes it as a limited-edition Couture release, with sandalwood replacing vanilla as the main focus of the composition, following the release of the limited-edition Libre Vanille Couture from 2025.
LIBRE Santal Couture is Yves Saint Laurent’s new one- of- a-kind, limited-edition fragrance offering a unique sandalwood-floral twist on the original Libre signature fragrance.
Described as being a vibrant, yet warm and long-lasting scent that is a reinterpretation of santal, featuring sensual Moroccan orange blossom accord, vibrant French lavender, and a warm New Caledonian sandalwood heart.
When it comes to the notes breakdown, these are the main notes in Yves Saint Laurent Libre Santal Couture Eau de Parfum:
- Top: Mandarin, lemon, lavender and cardamom
- Heart: Lavender, orange blossom, orange and fruity notes
- Base: Sandalwood, vanilla, cedar and musk
Compared with the original Libre perfume, which combines lavender and orange blossom with a warm vanilla base, Santal Couture keeps its signature floral contrast, but it has an emphasis toward woodiness.
The orange blossom within Libre Santal is grown in the YSL Ourika Community Gardens in Morocco, while the New Caledonian sandalwood is sustainably sourced and subjected to a specially developed extraction process.
The Yves Saint Laurent Libre Santal Couture Eau de Parfum is housed within a solid ‘earthy’ brown glass bottle, with a metallic finish and the iconic YSL logo wrapped around the center, just like the original YSL Libre, and is available right now.
