When it comes to Grow A Garden updates, two things excite me. New seeds and new pets, and we’re getting BOTH with the Grow A Garden summer update, which is launching this Saturday, the 21st of June.
It has been confirmed, that the Grow A Garden summer update is the biggest update the game has ever done, and we’ve seen some sneak peeks of the adorable pets coming in the update…

It is likely that the Grow A Garden summer update is going to be split into several parts, as it’s only the beginning of summer, and like the bee update, which was split over multiple weeks, I think the same will happen with the summer update too.
Let’s take a look at the pets, and see their benefits. There are some seriously exciting pets coming our way, with the brand new Summer Paradise Egg…

Peacock
The first pet we’ve seen a sneak peek for, is the Peacock, and the design is just beautiful.
It is a beautiful bright blue and lime green color, with pastel yellow accents, with the fanned tail feathers. I can’t get over how intricate the design is, it’s so pretty, and I think it could be one of the rarer pets we’ll be able to get in the game.
When it comes to benefit, it will occasionally fan its feathers, and all nearby pets will advance their ability cooldowns.
This is SO much better than the Queen Bee pet, which advances one single pet’s cooldown, but the peacock will do it for all nearby pets, and I honestly think this might be the rarest pet to get from the summer update.
I can’t wait to see more sneak peeks of the Grow A Garden summer pets, and I’ll update this post whenever we have more information.

Mimic Octopus
Have you ever wanted an octopus pet in Grow A Garden? This bright blue colored octopus has the cutest smiley face, with sleepy looking eyes.
We don’t have a sneak peek on the ability, but the mimic octopus copies its environment to blend in, so I wonder how that’ll translate into the game?
Could the mimic octopus take the mutations from a nearby fruit and pass it onto another fruit? Or, maybe it’ll take the ability from another pet, and do the same? I’m really intrigued by this one, and can’t wait to see what it can do.

Crab
We have another ocean themed pet with the crab, and it’s a bright red crab with big claws and a smiley face.
We don’t know what the benefit will be for the crab, but I think the design is so fun, and it’ll be interesting to see what the crab will do for us and our gardens.

Capybara
One of my favorite pets in the Grow A Garden summer update has to be the capybara. It’s kinda random, but that’s why I like it so much.
With the capybara, it will ensure that nearby pets’ hunger will not go down, and they’ll also gain additional XP per second too.
So, it sounds like a good passive pet to own, to help level up your other pets, especially if you do AFK playing too.

Flamingo
I am so in love with this pet – it’s a flamingo, with a bold and bright pink color design.
It has long legs and a long neck, so it’s super tall, and I can’t wait to see what the flamingo looks like walking or flying around the gardens. It has such an adorable expression on its face.
Imagine how epic the flamingo would look for those that are lucky enough to hatch a giant version? It would be so cool!
We don’t know the benefit yet, but I so need one regardless of what it does.

Orangutan
Next up, is the orangutan, and it looks so big, it’s barely in frame in the screenshot.
It has an orange design, with a gray face and gray hands, and it looks like it walks with its knuckles dragging on the floor, just like an authentic orangutan.
For the ability, when you’re crafting, each material has the chance for it to not be consumed, which is such a cool benefit, and the first pet to potentially help us when doing the crafting in-game.

Seagull
The seagull is another bird pet coming to the game, for the summer update. We did see Jandel share a TikTok where he promoted a player’s mock-up of a seagull pet, and it looks like he did perhaps hire the player for their seagull concept.

Starfish
We are going to be getting a brand new starfish pet, and it has a pink design, in two shades of pink color with a smiley face.
The starfish is another XP pet, and its benefit is that it gives increased XP per second, so it’s another good pet for helping you to level up and age your pets.

Toucan
Here we have the next Grow A Garden summer pet, and it’s a toucan; another bird pet.
This toucan design is one of my top 3 favorite designs for the summer pets, with a black design all over, with cobalt blue feet, a white heart shape face, and a two-tone orange beak.
It really does look like a toucan, and it gives us a sneak peek of what to expect with the summer update, because it will make all nearby “tropical” type plants have increase variant chances and grow bigger.
So, that would suggest we’re getting some tropical plants for this update, and those plants will benefit from having the toucan pet. I wonder what kind of noises it’ll make while it flies/hovers around the farm?

Sea Turtle
We do already have a turtle pet in the game, which can be found inside the Legendary Eggs, but this is a sea turtle, rather than a conventional and ordinary turtle.
This sea turtle has the most adorable design. With a bright green body, and a deep green tiered shell, and long flippers either side.
It’s a low profile pet, and will possibly crawl across the ground.
If you own the turtle pet, it’ll “occasionally” share its wisdom to a random active pet granting bonus experience.
This sounds like another passive pet, that’ll help improve XP and help with aging and leveling up the pets. It’s not the most exciting description, but the design is so, so cute.

Scarlet Macaw
We have another bird pet, and this time, it’s a type of parrot, and it’s a scarlet macaw.
It has the most bright and vibrant design, with bright red feathers, a white heart shaped face, black beak, yellow feet and blue and yellow tail feathers.
We don’t know what the benefit will be, but it’s the prettiest design, and perfect for a summer themed update.

Seal
The seal is my number one dreamie from this update, the benefit is amazing.
Firstly, the design is really cute, with a gray color all over, with flippers to help it crawl across the ground. I can’t wait to see what the seal actually looks like in real life, and how it will get around the farm.
The benefit is what makes this pet so amazing though. When selling pets, there’s a small chance to get the pet back as its egg equivalent. How insane is that? So you could be selling a snail which you hatched from a bug egg (that costs 50 million sheckles each), and you could get a free bug egg back in your inventory for selling your snail? I can’t get over how good that benefit is.

Ostrich
The last pet we’ve seen so far, is this regal looking ostrich.
It has black feathers, with white accents, gray legs, gray neck and a yellow beak.
It looks so tall with its long neck, and I’m intrigued to see what it does, and how it compares to the flamingo pet within the update.
