The Grow A Garden devs have been spoiling us lately, with the introduction of a ton of new weather events, to give us amazing new mutations.
The Tropical Rain weather event launched yesterday, as part of the Mega Harvest update, and it’s such a cool weather event to experience. Keep on reading to find out all about this latest weather event, and find out what mutation is can give your crops!

The Grow A Garden devs describe the Tropical Rain weather event as:
“Warm rain falling gently, brightening fruit and earth. 50% growth speed, chance to get the “Drenched” mutation“.
When you click the little icon in the corner of the screen, it reads +50% growth speed, higher DRENCHED fruit chance.

You’ll know immediately when the Tropical Rain weather event happens, because the entire sky becomes a shade of green, with heavy falling rain.
The green sky looks so cool yet eerie, with green colored heavy rain.

Here’s what the sky looks like, when the Tropical Rain weather event happens, when you’re stood in your garden. It tends to last for two minutes total, and as it gives you a 50% growth speed boost, it’s the perfect time to plant any slow-growing seeds, like the Traveler’s Seed, Guanabana and Elephant Ears seeds.

During the Tropical Rain weather event, your crops get a chance to get the new Drenched mutation, and the Drenched mutation has a multiplier of x5.
You’ll be able to spot when a fruit has a drenched mutation, as the word Drenched is a bright cobalt blue color, and it really stands out against the other mutation name colors on your fruits.

If you want to spot if your fruits have the Drenched mutation, without manually checking each fruit, you’ll be able to spot animated blue rain drops from the fruit.
it’s a brighter blue than the dripping rain effect you get with the “Wet” mutation, and it really stands out, so you can’t miss it.
It’s quite a common weather event, so keep an eye on the color of the sky, when you’re playing, and enjoy the x5 multiplier, if the Drenched mutation applies itself to your crops in your garden.
