We got totally spoilt in the Grow A Garden summer update, when it comes to brand new weather events.
The Grow A Garden dev team gave us new summer-themed weather events, and said goodbye to old weather events like snow (thank goodness – I *hate* the frozen ugly ice cubes on every crop). Keep on reading to find out all about the brand new heatwave event…

When you’re playing, the sky might suddenly got a bright vivid blue, and the sun above you gets bigger, and does a vibrating effect.
If you play with sound, there’s a strange laser-like noise, which I guess is the sun rays shining down on your crops.
In the top corner, you get a little sunshine logo, which when you click it, it says:
“Heatwave: higher SUNDRIED fruit chance”

During the heatwave event, you’ll see pale yellow sun rays coming out of the sun and moving across all of the farms in the server, kinda like a laser.
The rays move quickly, and scan across the gardens, and if you get one of the sun rays to touch one of your fruits, the fruit will get the “sundried” mutation.
This mutation of “sundried” will give your crops a x85 multiplier, which is amazing, and there’s a handy tool in the Gear Shop that you can purchase with sheckles, to improve your chances of getting the sundried mutation.
It’s kinda like this is the new “thunder” weather event, as we used to be able to buy a lightning rod in the gear shop, to encourage lightning strikes on our crops, but the lightning rod is no longer in the Gear Shop (you have to craft them), and now there’s a tool you can buy to encourage the sundried mutation happening on your crops.

With the Tanning Mirror, which is 1 million sheckles, it redirects sunbeams 10 times before being destroyed.
You place the iridescent, shimmery rectangle shaped “mirror” somewhere in your garden – the direction doesn’t matter, and just like a sprinkler, a green circle appears on the floor to let you know the area the tanning mirror will work for.
It’s a really big area, and for 1 million sheckles, I think it’s a good price to pay, especially for a multiplier of x85, and it works 10 times before being destroyed, when the Lightning Rod only worked for 3 times before being destroyed, and it’s the same price.
The Grow A Garden Heatwave weather event is officially live within the game, and make sure you keep an eye out for the sundried mutation on your crops, and take advantage of that x85 multiplier.
