We got a brand new egg in Grow A Garden, with the New Year Event.
As far as Grow A Garden events go, the “New Year” update is severely lacking in content. There’s literally nothing to do, other than check the event shop stock, every ten minutes, and claim a reward once a day for “logging in”.
So, the egg is the most exciting, or only part of the update, and from the five new pets on offer, the Celebration Puppy is just one of those five new pets.

You can purchase the New Year Egg from the New Year’s Shop, and as I mentioned above, the stock refreshes every 10 mins. When it is in stock, you’ll find between 1 and 3 eggs available, each costing 1 trillion sheckles each.
Obviously, there’s a premium version of the egg (this is Grow A Garden after all), and you can purchase the egg via the shop, using Robux or Trade Tokens.
Inside the New Year’s Egg, you’ll find the following pets:
- New Year’s Bird – 31% chance
- Firework Sprite – 25% chance
- Celebration Puppy – 20% chance
- New Year’s Chimp – 15% chance
- Star Wolf – 8.75% chance
- New Year’s Dragon – 0.25% chance
Most of these pets are actually just reskins of existing pets. The bird is the same as the blue jay, the sprite is the same as the glimmering sprite and the puppy is the same as the dog, but with different colors.

The Celebration Puppy is the dog pet, but with colorful accents, like its ears and tail, with a bow tie, a pair of sunglasses and a party hat.
For a 20% rarity pet, here’s what the Celebration Puppy does:
“Every 2:35m, 12.25% chance to dig up a random New Year cosmetic!“
It’s basically a cosmetic version of the original dog, which gives you a very low percentage chance of digging up a random seed (from the Seed Shop), and the seed, once dug up, teleports itself to you, providing you’re standing in your garden.
With the Grow A Garden Celebration Puppy, the “random” New Year cosmetic flies into your cosmetics inventory, and you don’t have to be standing in your garden, which is handy, as you can stand at the New Year’s Shop, waiting for restocks, while your Celebration Puppy “digs” up the cosmetics for you.
In the description of the Celebration Puppy, it mentions that it digs up a random New Year cosmetic, but doesn’t mention how many cosmetics are on offer. So, I went AFK with one Celebration Puppy and four x 15 second Mimics, to see how many cosmetics I got.
Each time your puppy has successfully dug up a cosmetic (or you Mimic, if you’re using them), you get a message on the screen, telling you which cosmetic the puppy dug up.
There are four different New Year Cosmetics your Celebration Puppy can dig up for you:
- Firework Shooter New Year’s Cosmetic
- Confetti Cannon New Year’s Cosmetic
- Party Hat New Year’s Cosmetic
- Sparkler New Year’s Cosmetic
That’s it, they are all four of the cosmetics you can get from the Celebration Puppy. It’s kinda underwhelming, when you consider how many amazing cosmetics a pet like the Snowman Builder can give you.
This is a pet you’ll perhaps want for an hour or so, of AFK, to get the cosmetics, but sell it in the Trading Market as soon as you can, so you get a decent price for it, as the cosmetics aren’t great, in all honesty, but you want them, so you can cross them off in your Cosmetic Index.
Here’s a look at the four cosmetic items…

Firework Shooter New Year’s Cosmetic
This “firework shooter” is a black and gold box with nine holes in the top. I have no idea what vibe they were going for, with this, and I deleted all of them from my cosmetic inventory after doing this post.

Confetti Cannon New Year’s Cosmetic
This is the best of the four cosmetics from the Celebration Puppy, in my opinion.
It’s a red, yellow, blue and green cannon, which shoots out little teal, yellow, green, blue and red squares, which look like confetti.
They look so cute, especially when you have one placed either side of your garden’s entrance.

Party Hat New Year’s Cosmetic
Next, we have something really cute. It’s a teeny little white party hat, with colorful spots all over it (the same hat as the one the dog wears).
You can then add party hats to your plants or your other cosmetics, like gnomes. Yes, it’s also kinda pointless, but at least it’s cute.

Sparkler New Year’s Cosmetic
The last of the four New Year’s themed cosmetics is a sparkler, and it’s a tiny black stick with a glowing sparkling flame at the top.
I wish we could hold them as we walked around, like a gear item (like we can in Dress To Impress), but they’re just sticks you place in your garden, but they really are tiny.
