Plants vs Brainrots launched their new Cards feature as part of their Cards Event, which launched on October 11th.
Before the update dropped, Jandel shared sneak peeks on his TikTok, and in the official Plants Vs Brainrots Discord server, explaining how cards will have passives and active abilities, so you can build a meta with your plant team.
The Cards feature has been in the game for nearly a week now, so I wanted to share a helpful guide on what they are, how best to use them, and some tips on choosing which five cards you should equip for different scenarios/situations.

What Are Cards In Plants Vs Brainrots?
Cards are a brand new feature, where we collect special power-up “cards” to give you special advantages and abilities – kinda like how you use pets within Grow A Garden, to enhance your gameplay.
You can earn Card Packs for free, by completing the daily quest each day, by handing in the four requested Brainrots, and in return, you’ll get one Shiny Base Card Pack every 24 hours.
You can also earn free Base Card Packs by completing the Tomade Torelli Hit List Quest, which is the current ongoing quest, where you have to capture 20 different Brainrots, to earn lots of cool rewards; including the Base Card Packs, seeds, in-game money, Gear Items, Brainrots and more.
Players then choose five cards from their inventory to strategically enhance your plants’ abilities, earn more money or give you extra help when tackling Brainrots and Bosses.

In each card pack, you get five cards, and you can get standard cards or shiny cards inside the packs.
If you go to open a Card Pack, and there’s a glowing aura surrounding the pack, that means there’s a rarer card or shiny card within the pack.

How To Use The Plants Vs Brainrots Card Merging Machine
On the Central Island, there’s a new Card Merging Machine, which allows you to merge cards in your inventory.
To be able to merge cards, you need three cards of the exact same card, and the Card Merging Machine will combine the three duplicate cards and create one single new and improved card.
Cards are available in three different tiers: Tier I, Tier II and Tier III.
- If you merge 3 x Tier I cards, you will receive 1 x Tier II card – a more improved and more powerful version of the Tier 1 version.
- If you merge 3 x Tier II cards, you will receive 1 x Tier III card – an even more improved and more powerful version of the Tier 1 version.
Right now, you cannot merge Tier III cards, but hopefully they’ll introduce even further tiers with time, so we can upgrade our cards even more.
Ideally, you want to have as many Tier III cards within your Player’s Cards stand in your garden, as possible, as Tier III cards are the most powerful cards.

You can access your card inventory at any time, by clicking the View Cards Gear Item.
This opens up two panels, one of which shows the cards you have equipped right now (all five of them), and then the main panel shows you every single card you own.
Right now, there are 35 cards to collect, and I’m currently on 30/35 cards, so I still need to collect 5 more card.
You are able to hold 1000 cards at any one time, and I’m currently only on 76/1000. To keep your card inventory down, make sure you’re always merging your cards as often as possible, as that combines three individual cards into one individual card.
To check if you have any cards available for merging, just walk over to the Card Merging Machine, and click “E”, and it’ll show you if you have any trios of cards available for merge.
One tip I have, your “equipped” cards won’t automatically show as being available for merging, so you’d have to unequip them first, and then it’ll check if those five cards you had equipped, are available for merging.
When you merge a card, it automatically powers up the card. It could be an improvement in a percentage, a specific amount like a time period or an ability your plants will do.

How Do The Cards Work In Plants vs Brainrots
You can choose any five cards to equip at one time. You cannot choose the same card twice, so for example, if you have two x Doom Bloom cards, you can equip one of those cards, but you can’t have the card in two of the five slots.
You’d have to wait until you had three of those cards, and then merge them, but you can only equip one of each card at one time.
I’m going to show you which cards I have equipped in my garden right now, and why…

My first card is Doom Bloom Tier I Card, and I think this is the best card in the game, in my opinion. Equipping this card means, 35% increased damage dealt by plants.
If you equip this card, and then hover over any of your plants in your garden, the DPS (damage per second) statistic will show with a multiplier next to it, so for example, mine shows x1.4, as a multiplier on every single one of my 35 plants, from my smallest plants, to my titanic Tomatrio.
This isn’t affected by time either, with a time cap. It is permanent, so at all times, every single one of my 35 plants delivers 35% more damage at all times.
I only have two x Doom Bloom cards right now. I’m dying to get a third, so I can merge it and increase the 35% plant power boost even more, and then again when I have three x Tier II Doom Bloom cards, to get an even more powerful Doom Bloom Tier III Card.

Next up, I have the Chain Lightning Tier III Card. With this card, every 50 brainrots slain, summons chain lightning that strikes 7 random Brainrots for 25,000 damage.
This is my least favorite card from my line-up, but as it is Tier III, it works every 50 Brainrots, which is very often, and lightning falls from the sky striking any Brainrots approaching my garden.
This card will be particularly effective when used with the Riot Potion or Speed Potion, for quicker Brainrot spawns, as the lightning will trigger a lot more often.

My third card is my second favorite card, and it is the Bloom Ascendant Tier I Card.
After slaying 1000 Brainrots, buff all plants stats by 100% for 5 minutes.
This card makes all of your plant’s DPS number increased by 100% for a full five minutes, after the 1000th Brainrot has been slain.
You get a gold flashing light appear all the way around your garden for the full five minutes, so you know it’s happening, and if you walk over to the wheelbarrows at the end of each lane, the 100% boosted DPS score for each lane is then shown as the new red DPS lane score for the 5 minutes.
This will be insanely OP for the admin abuse session on Saturday, especially with the Riot Potion in use, so the Brainrots spawn super quickly, so the 1000 Brainrots slain happens more frequently, and your plants, with the 100% DPS stats boost helping to slay any crazy huge or crazy powerful Brainrots, like the Upsidedown 67 Brainrot.

Next in my stack, is the Petal Storm Tier I Card.
For this card’s ability, every 10th hit from a plant, releases a wave of petals that deal 5,000 AoE damage.
This card boosts every singular plant in your garden, and is the kind of card you’ll get a benefit from, very often. 10 hits isn’t very much at all, and when this happens, pink petals spin around the plant, while it inflicts the 5000 AoE damage (for any Brainrots around the specific plant).

My fifth and final card, and one I don’t think I’d ever remove from my line-up, is a shiny, and it’s the Rizzroot Manifestation Card.
With this card, luck is increased by 75%. My luck shows as x17 at all times now, with this card equipped, and I get a lot of Secrets spawning, and also Lucky Eggs spawning too.
According to the stats, this is quite a rare card, with only a 1.02% chance, and it definitely boosts luck with size/mutations of Brainrots, so I’ll never swap it out.
You can change up your cards at any time, and hopefully, with new Plants Vs Brainrots updates, we’ll get new card types, new merge options and other ways to earn free card packs, as it’s an amazing addition to the game, and definitely makes the game more fun. Hopefully, we’ll be able to trade cards soon, too!
