Today, Grow A Garden launched the brand new Sandstorm weather event.
When this weather event happens, the sky turns a pale yellow color, and the normal green grass on the floor of the map, is turned into a sand appearance, and it looks like you’re in a literal sandstorm, with particles flying about.

Not only does the map look like sand, the screen actually vibrates and shakes while the event is happening, like a storm.
In the top corner, you’ll see a black spiral icon, which kinda looks like the tornado weather event, but when you click it, it reads: Sandstorm. Higher SANDY Fruit Chance.

If you’re in the game during a Sandstorm weather event, there’s a chance your fruit can get the SANDY mutation, which is a brand new mutation that’s launched ahead of the Prehistoric Dino Update.

When your fruit gets the Sandy mutation, it turns a sandy yellow color, but it also gets a super cool sandy ripple effect texture, so it genuinely resembles sand.
Plus, the Sandy fruits get a sand cloud animation surrounding them, both when they’re on the plant, but also when picked, and you’re holding them.

If you manage to get the Sandy mutation, the Sandy mutation is written in a beige color, and it’ll give you a multiplier of x3, so it’s definitely worth having!
It looks like the Sandstorm is going to be pretty common, as I’ve seen it twice in the past hour, so hopefully that means there’s a really good chance our fruits are going to get the Sandy mutation, to increase their value.
