One of the most talked about pets within the Grow A Garden Zen Update is the Tanchozuru pet, which is one of six animals we can hatch out of the Zen Egg.
Whilst the Kitsune is the rarest, and most popular pet, the Tanchozuru is an amazing pet for helping with the Zen Tree quest. Read on to find out why…

The Tanchozuru is one of the six new pets which can be hatched from the Zen Egg.
The Zen Egg costs 149 Robux, or you can earn them for free, by participating in the Zen Channeller’s Zen Tree Quest, or you can purchase them with your Chi Points, if you ever see the Zen Egg in stock.
It’s very hard to find them in stock, which is so frustrating, and even if you restock the shop with sheckles yourself, you have to spend a fortune to find a Zen Egg in stock.
My favorite way to get Zen Eggs is to do the Zen Tree quest over and over, as more often than not, you’ll end up with free Zen Eggs as well as free Zen Seed Packs.
The Zen Egg has a black and white design, takes 4 hours and 10 minutes to hatch, and you’ll find one of these six pets inside it:
- Shibu Inu – 40% chance
- Nihonzaru – 31% chance
- Tanuki – 20.82% chance
- Tanchozuru – 4.6% chance
- Kappa – 3.5% chance
- Kitsune – 0.08% chance
The Tanchozuru has long grey legs, black and white feathers, a brown beak and a red circle on the top of its head, and it walks around the farm slowly.

What Does The Tanchozuru Pet Do In Grow A Garden?
This black, white and red bird has a super helpful ability when it comes to farming Tranquil fruits for the Zen Quest.
Every 9:53 minutes, it mediates for 10.74 seconds, and nearby fruits in a 15.99 stud radius have a 5.73% chance every second to mutate into “Tranquil” fruits.
When it meditates, a circle appears around the bird, and you can get on average, around 6 to 12 Tranquil fruits in one meditation period, providing you have your farm mega stacked with plants.

I currently have two Tanchozuru bird pets in my garden, and six mimic octopuses, until I can hatch more Tanchozuru pets, so the eight pets work efficiently at converting as many crops as possible to “Tranquil” so I can hand them into the Zen Chaneller to unlock free Zen Eggs and Zen Seed Packs.
It is working amazingly well, and I’ve already got three Maple Apple Seeds (since Saturday) from doing this method, as it unlocks an insane amount of free seed packs, when you jam pack your save slot garden with Divine or Prismatic plants.
People are going crazy trying to get these birds, to try and get as many tranquil fruits as possible before the new Corrupted Event update launches on Saturday.
It is likely that the quest is going to change, so use your Tanchozurus as much as you can, to try and farm as many tranquil fruits before the quest changes.
