Whenever Grow A Garden launches an event with a mechanic where we have to hand in fruits with a specific mutation (like the Bee Event and Zen Event), they always introduce a pet that will apply the specific mutation to your crops.
For the Grow A Garden Fairy Update, the Glimmering Sprite is that very pet, and it’s going to help you with the Wishing Well Quest.
The Glimmering Sprite is the second-rarest pet to hatch from the Enchanted Egg, and it’s the coolest hovering fairy sprite.
These are the five pets we can hatch:
- Ladybug – 50% chance
- Pixie – 29% chance
- Imp – 15% chance
- Glimmering Sprite – 5% chance
- Cockatrice – 1% chance
Whenever you hatch a Glimmering Sprite, you can’t see it anywhere until you tilt your screen upwards, as it hovers high above your head.
Just like the Pixie Pet, the Glimmering Sprite pet also comes in different colors, which is so fun, and the colors are the same as the Pixie, with sage green, blue, pink and purple.
It is a little sprite which hovers above you with fluttering wings, and glowing eyes (just like the Pixie pet).
The wings look like butterfly wings, and there are little golden orbs which surround the wings as it hovers, and it just looks so pretty.
It hovers around your farm in the air, and never touches the ground, and it flies higher than the Pixie pet does.
What Does The Grow A Garden Glimmering Sprite Pet Do?
Every 3.32 minutes, the Glimmering Sprite flies to a nearby fruit and enchants it, applying the Glimmering mutation.
When the sneak peeks were first shared about the Glimmering Sprite, it had the interval a lot higher, but it has actually been reduced, and every 3.32 minutes, it will mutate one crop with the Glimmering mutation, which is what you need for the Wishing Well quest.
I’ve never had a message pop-up to say that the Glimmering Sprite has “failed” to apply the mutation, so I believe it is 100% guaranteed, and if you can get a whole army of these pets, you’ll be getting 18 pollinated fruits per hour, per Glimmering Sprite.
If you manage to get 8 Glimmering Sprites, that is 144 fruits mutated with the Glimmering mutation every single hour, which will power you through the Wishing Well Quest.
It has been SO handy for doing the quest, and you get a pop-up message every time you get a Glimmering mutated fruit.
Whilst this pet has been designed specifically for this event, the Glimmering mutation has a multiplier of x2, which isn’t the best, but it’ll boost the value of fruits you have in the future, that you want to collect mutations on.
So, keep hold of a Glimmering Sprite or two, post-event, incase you ever want the mutation, if you don’t have the Glimmering Mutation Sprays on hand.
