The Cockatrice pet is the new rarest pet within Grow A Garden, and launched as part of the Fairy Event update.
I am kinda underwhelmed by the Cockatrice pet, as it looks like it’s a visual combination of the Griffin (rarest pet from last week’s update) and the Golden Goose (rarest pet from the previous week’s update). It feels so repetitive, but let’s get onto what it is, and what it actually does…

The Cockatrice pet is the newest Divine pet within the game, and is a 1% pet.
Here are the five different pets you can hatch out of the new Enchanted Egg:
- Ladybug – 50% chance
- Pixie – 29% chance
- Imp – 15% chance
- Glimmering Sprite – 5% chance
- Cockatrice – 1% chance
I’ve been super lucky with the Enchanted Eggs, and have already hatched three Cockatrices, and before this update launched, I’d never even heard of a Cockatrice – what even is that?
The cockatrice is described as a mythical creature, often described as a two-legged, winged reptile or dragon with a rooster’s head.
It could turn creatures to stone, had poisonous breath, and immense venom, and Grow A Garden has used those traits to create the ability for the pet.
Visually, it really does look like a combo between the Golden Goose and Griffin, so I hope we get something completely different in the next couple of updates.
The Grow A Garden Cockatrice has the dragon body and wings, and a rooster’s head.
It has really big pale blue wings which have a curve, and it flaps them as it walks around your farm – it doesn’t fly, it just walks everywhere.

Benefits Of The Grow A Garden Cockatrice Pet
The description box for the Cockatrice has SO much text compared to the other pets, as it offers multiple benefits in one:
Every 16:17 minutes, it screeches and all fruits within 21.14 studs have a 20.23% chance to turn to Silver, and a 1.05% chance to turn to gold.
Every 10:08 minutes, it spits at 5.46 different fruit/eggs/pets. Fruits get the Toxic mutation, pet eggs advance by 82.29 seconds, and pets gain 811.44 XP.

So, the Cockatrice does two different benefits at two different time intervals. The longest interval is where it *can* change nearby plants to either Silver or Gold, but it has a second benefit, where it’ll spit at your fruit, pets and eggs.
When it “spits” at your fruits, the fruits will gain the Toxic mutation, pet eggs will have the time quickened by 82.29 seconds, and pets gain 811 XP.
It’s cool that it benefits your fruits, pets and eggs all-in-one, and that is every 10 minutes – and as it ages, that time interval will decrease, so it’ll eventually do that ability more often.
