If you’re playing the Grow A Garden Kitchen Storm Event, there’s a brand new chest reward, and there are three brand new pets to collect.
We first saw a chest mechanic within the Corruption Event, combining both seeds and pets within the same item, instead of relying on eggs for pets, and seed packs for seeds. Keep on reading to find out all about the new, adorable Hotdog Dachshund Pet.

What Is The Grow A Garden Hotdog Dachshund Pet?
There are six items you can get within the new Culinarian Chest, three of the items are seeds, and three of the items are pets.
Just like the Corrupt Chests, the six items are divided into duos, each of which have the same luck percentage:
- Rhubarb Seed – 34% chance
- Bacon Pig Pet – 34% chance
- Badlands Pepper Seed – 14.5% chance
- Hotdog Dachshund Pet – 14.5% chance
- King Cabbage Seed – 1% chance
- Lobster Thermidor Pet – 1% chance
The two rarest items you can get within the new Culinarian Chest are the King Cabbage Seed and the Lobster Thermidor Pet, both of which have a 1% chance.
For the Hotdog Dachshund Pet, it’s a 14.5% chance item, alongside the Badlands Pepper Seed, and the dog is so, so cute.
It’s a small, brown dog, which has been designed to have the body resemble a hotdog, with mustard and ketchup on the sausage part of the hotdog. It’s the cutest dog design we’ve seen in the game, and I love the way it tilts its head to one side.

What Does The Hotdog Dachshund Pet Do In Grow A Garden?
Every 3:58 minutes, the dog “drops” a 8.09 stud mustard or ketchup puddle on the floor, that lasts 30.17 seconds.
Pets that enter the “mustard” puddle circle get a 21.16% faster cooldown and pets that enter the “ketchup” puddle circle get a 21.16% more experience.
When the hotdog dachchund drops the mustard or ketchup, a bright red circle or a bright yellow circle appears on the ground, so you can clearly see where it is, and see which pets walk/fly into the circle’s perimeter.

I’ve observed my army of hotdog dachshunds, and I don’t think the mustard/ketchup puddles work on the dog that drops the puddle.
So, if dog one does the mustard or ketchup puddle, walks out of the circle, and then walks back into it, it doesn’t appear to boost that dog, but if you have other hotdog dachshund pets equipped, and they walk into the circle area, it does boost them, and it can mean they end up overlapping the circles, if it triggers their puddle ability.
If you have the Pancake Stack items, from getting prismatic or transcendent rewards from Chris P, it does work on the Hotdog Dachshunds, so you can equip two or three of them, plus six or seven higher tier pets you want to boost (like a T Rex, Lobster Thermidor, Spinosaurus, Fennec Fox, Raccoon etc), and it’ll be an endless cycle of resetting the hotdogs with their puddles (providing you equip multiple hotdogs), boosting the other pets.
Everyone is talking about how amazing the lobster thermidor pet is, but the hotdog dachshund is seriously overrated, so make sure you don’t sell them all, and keep some, because they’ll be unobtainable with the next Grow A Garden update.
