Grow A Garden dropped their Kitchen Storm update over the weekend, and with the update, we got a brand new chest.
The game debuted the “chest” concept for the Corrupted update, which combines both pets and seeds, and just like the Corrupted Chest, we can get three different seeds, and three different pets, with the two 1% rarest items being the Lobster Thermidor pet, and the King Cabbage Seed.

Usually, pets are hatched from eggs, or they can be purchased fully grown from event shops, like the Raiju in the Zen Shop, and the Blood Kiwi in the Blood Moon Shop.
The Culinarian Chests are much harder to get than the Corrupt Chests, which were super easy to grind for. We have to give the Rat Connoisseur a recipe we’ve cooked using mutated crops, and we then get the choice of three rewards, which are chosen at random from a pool of 15 rewards, so the chance of getting the Culinarian Chest is pretty low.
The list of rewards we can potentially get are:
- Culinarian Chest
- Gourmet Seed Pack
- Butternut Squash Seed
- Spring Onion Seed
- Pricklefruit Seed
- Bitter Melon Seed
- Kitchen Crate
- Pet Shard Aromatic
- Sunny-Side Chicken Pet
- Gorilla Chef Pet
- Cooking Cauldron
- Smoothie Fountain
- Kitchen Flooring
- Kitchen Cart
- Gourmet Egg

If you do manage to spot the Culinarian Chest within the trio of rewards, there are six items you can find inside the chest:
- Rhubarb Seed – 34% chance
- Bacon Pig Pet – 34% chance
- Badlands Pepper Seed – 14.5% chance
- Hotdog Dachshund Pet – 14.5% chance
- King Cabbage Seed – 1% chance
- Lobster Thermidor Pet – 1% chance
The Lobster Thermidor pet is the rarest pet from the entire Kitchen Storm update, with the French Fry Ferret being the rarest pet from the Gourmet Egg.
This Lobster Thermidor is a “divine” pet, and I’ve managed to get two of the lobster pets so far, but no King Cabbage seeds, and it’s likely the chests will be disappearing on Saturday, once the latest update is launched, so we don’t have long to grind for the chests to get the two 1% rewards.
I know the design isn’t for everyone, but I seriously love the design of this pet. It’s a cute little red lobster, with butter and herbs sprinkled over the top, like the dish; lobster thermidor.
When you place it down within your farm it scuttles along the floor with its six legs, and moves its claws. I love the attention to detail, and the gradient colors on the tail.

What Does The Grow A Garden Lobster Thermidor Pet Do?
Lobster thermidor is a classic French dish featuring cooked lobster meat combined with a creamy, often wine-based sauce, and then returned to its shell, topped with cheese, and broiled until browned.
In Grow A Garden, the Lobster Thermidor pet does two different abilities, and they’re both mutations, so it’s a new mutation pet, which are always super handy to have.
Every 14:54 minutes, the lobster has a 20.12% chance to mutate a nearby fruit with the Molten mutation.
Every 29:50 minutes, the lobster has a 10.12% chance to mutate a nearby fruit with the Meteoric mutation.
Both of these mutations are usually admin weather event only mutations, so they’re super rare to get.
With the Molten mutation, it gives you a x25 multiplier, and the Meteoric mutation gives you a x125 multiplier, which is insane.
Considering how popular the Disco Bee pet is, giving just the Disco mutation (x125), the Lobster Thermidor is amazing, as you get the chance to get the x125 multiplier too, but also another x25 mutation multiplier too.

Once this event is over, I think the Lobster Thermidor pet is going to be a highly sought-after pet, especially if you grow a massive fruit, and want to collect the best mutations as possible.
It’ll give you both the Meteoric and Molten mutations, and the design is adorable too. I’d love to see some more pets introduced, offering the admin-only weather mutations, like Galactic and AlienLike.
