We have two different dogs within Grow A Garden. Both dogs are obtainable via the opening of the in-game eggs, and today, I’m going to let you know all about the Golden Lab version of the dog.
I’m going to tell you how you can get one, what benefits a Golden Lab will give your game, and whether I think it’s worthwhile adding one to your garden in-game.

How To Get The Golden Lab Pet In Grow A Garden
The Golden Lab dog pet can be found in the “Common Eggs”, which are 50,000 (fifty thousand sheckles), and they can be found alongside the other two pets:
- Golden Lab (beige) 33.33%
- Dog (white and brown) 33.33%
- Bunny (white) 33.33%
You have a 33.33% chance of pulling the golden lab, dog or bunny from your eggs, so you have a very good chance that you’re going to reveal a bunny inside your common egg.
The Golden Lab is a beige color all over, except he has two brown ears, which makes him stand out against the simple “Dog” pet, which can also be found inside the Common Eggs.

Benefits Of Owning The Grow A Garden Golden Lab Pet
If you choose to equip the golden lab, and add it to your garden, every 60 seconds, there’s a 10% chance it will dig up a random seed from the soil.
You will see the dog do digging animations, which is cute, and if the dog *finds* a seed, you’ll get a notification across the screen with a beep, to tell you that the dog found a seed.
The seed will float on the screen, and you’ll see a 30-second timer, where you’ll have to walk into the seed to claim it. After the 30 seconds, the seed will disappear.
When it comes to the seeds, it is totally random. You’ll most likely get notifications your dog found carrot seeds or a tomato seed, but sometimes it can dig up something interesting.

I’m not the biggest fan of the dog and the seed aspect, but dogs are the best way to level up your pets.
They require small amounts of food to fill up their hunger bar, so you don’t have to waste your best crops on trying to feed your pets, and getting them to level up.
