The last time Essie launched a full chrome effect nail polish collection was back in 2012, with the launch of their Mirror Metallics Collection, and that was just a five-shade collection.
This brand new Essie Flash Chromes Nail Polish Collection formula features a powderless formula, giving you a reflective finish without streaks or having to buff in a messy chrome powder to the get the chrome effect finish.
Essie describes the formula as containing real chrome pigments, with their ‘billion pigment formula’ promising saturated color payoff in every coat.
Each of the eight Essie Flash Chromes shades are $13, so they’re the same price as the other Essie Nail Art Studio Special Effects polishes, rather than the price of their $10 main range usual nail polishes.
Firecracker is a warm rose-gold copper chrome.
Minted is a soft sage-mint chrome.
Mixed Metal is a champagne-gold chrome with a soft taupe undertone.
Pink Caviar is a soft cool pink chrome with a pearly metallic finish.
Pure Chrome is a bright silver chrome.
Purple Reign is a muted lavender chrome.
Skylight is an icy blue chrome with a cool silver shift.

Chrome nail polishes are notoriously difficult to photograph, and it looks like the Essie photos of the colors on the nails are done in a photo editing program, as the studio lighting reflections and shadows are identical in every swatch, for each model and for every color.
