Have you seen the Stegosaurus pet in Grow a Garden, and want to know how you can get one, and find out what the pet actually does? I’m going to give you an in-depth look at the new Grow A Garden Stegosaurus pet, and let you know if it’s worth having as one of your equipped pets within your garden.

What Is The Grow A Garden Stegosaurus Pet?
You can get six different dinosaur pets from the new Dinosaur Egg, which you can get from doing the Prehistoric Daily Quest via Blaire (once every 12 hours), or you can get from Graham from donating an unwanted pet, and allowing the DNA Machine to turn the pet into a Dinosaur Egg, or a full-grown dinosaur.
When you place the Dinosaur Egg in your garden, you have to wait 4 hours for it to hatch, but if you have a Bald Eagle, Kiwi, Blood Kiwi or Rooster pet, they can help quicken the hatching time.
For the six dinosaurs, these are the chance percentages for what you could hatch:
- Raptor – 35% chance
- Triceratops – 32.5% chance
- Stegosaurus – 28% chance
- Pterodactyl – 3% chance
- Brontosaurus – 1% chance
- T. Rex – 0.5% chance
So, you have a 28% chance you’ll hatch a stegosaurus pet, when you hatch your Dinosaur Egg, which isn’t a bad chance, and the Raptor and Triceratops are the only two pets that are more common from the Dinosaur Egg.
With the Daily Prehistoric Quest, you have to do 3 different tasks, and each task earns you 1 x Ancient Seed Pack, 1 x Dinosaur Egg and 1 x Dino Crate, so you can earn one Dinosaur Egg every 12 hours, but potentially, earn another egg every hour, with the DNA Machine, unless your reward is a fully grown dinosaur.

What Does The Grow A Garden Stegosaurus Pet Do?
You get an 8.49% chance harvested fruit duplicate (rarer crops have lower chance to duplicate).
5.33% extra chance for Prehistoric type fruit to duplicate (Stonebite, Paradise Petal, Horned Dinoshroom, Boneboo, Firefly Fern and Fossilight – the plants from the Ancient Seed Packs).

The Stegosaurus Pet kinda works like the Squirrel Pet, where it can duplicate any type of fruit, but you get a greater chance of it duplicating your prehistoric plants, that you won from the Ancient Seed Packs.
I love the design of the Stegosaurus pet, as it’s a dark green all over, with browny orange plates down the center of its back. It looks so cute as it slowly walks through the garden, and it’s a big pet too, mine is just 0.88kg, and it’s a big size considering it’s under 1kg.
